Chris is down in the bar, at the Bar.
She orders a salad and some lemonade. For a moment she's tempted to get something alcoholic but sensibility wins out. Besides, the Bar is moving slow enough with the orders as it is.
Chris grabs a fork and starts poking at her salad. Maybe she'll actually eat some of it. You can come talk to her if you want, she might actually talk back.

An unwanted memory of Jack and Chase questioning her about Kim's disappearance comes to mind and she looks away and takes a sip of her lemonade.

He has a brief flash of memory about certain other things Chase can do with his mouth, and coughs uncomfortably.

The idea that Lee and Chase ever tried to date, or whatever, is almost amusing to Chris now. "Yeah, you do."

"I do kind of wish I'd talked to him before he left, though." He shrugs. He finds it easier to talk to Chris than to Chase, though the romantic parts of both relationships had ended on similar notes.
"I mean...he's not a bad guy. Just kind of a jerkoff sometimes."
Pot. Kettle. Black."I haven't seen your dad around here yet," he says, changing the subject. "Is he still here?"

The mention of her father, though, sobers her. "Yeah, he is. I spent yesterday with him."

He nods. "How's he doing? You said he's been here a while..."

"He's happy."
no subject
"Well, that's good." It's comforting to know that it's possible for someone to be happy here even if they're dead. And it's nice that it's making Chris happy.

"He's, uh, seeing someone," Chris adds.
no subject
"Really?" Unexpected, but interesting. "Who?"

"Her name's Elaine. She's a British woman. From the 12th century," Chris says dryly.
And she's eighteen. Not that Chris has any room to judge anymore.

He pauses a moment. "That kind of thing happens a lot around here, doesn't it?"
no subject
Heh."Most people don't even bat an eyelash at the unusual couples."

"She's been here for several months so he already knows quite a bit about what happens after her lifetime."
no subject
"Well, wouldn't he know all about what happens after her lifetime anyway? I mean, it's ancient history as far as we're concerned."

Subtle? Nah.

"Yeah, but what about the people who aren't dead? What are they here for?"
