There is a boy - looking to be about fourteen - standing in the doorway.

Behind black-rimmed glasses, his eyes flick over the patrons curiously. Many, many humans - many also not so human - some...

Hmm.

Harth Fray comes further in, letting the door shut behind him.

The vampire watches the bar silently.

Harth smiles. Sweetly.

"Oh yeah. I know Mel. We go back a bit, y'know?"

"So you're ... friends?"

With the same last name, Harris?

"Cousins?"

"Siblings," the boy grins. "A little estranged, but I like to think we're slowly growing closer again."

"You're Mel's brother?" Xander repeats. Weird, she's never mentioned one ... but then, if they're estranged, that might be why. Slayer stuff messes with everybody.

"Awesome," he says. The creepy makes more sense now. Though he has none of his own, he acknowledges little brothers to be fairly scary individuals. "Yeah, um, I'm a friend of Mel's, so it's great to meet you."

"Any friend of Mel's is luncha friend of mine," smiles Harth.

Xander grins.

"Glad to hear it. Do you have any idea how long you're gonna stick around? Because, um, depending on whether the door opens for you, it could be awhile ... Mel was stuck here for months."

Harth raises his eyebrows.

"I have... no idea. I'd like to have a look about and stuff before I go - this place is really somethin' else."

Xander nods.

"Makes sense-- you only just got here. If you need a tour guide or anything, let me know. Mel'd probably want somebody looking out for you."

Harth smiles up at him.

"I'm sure she would."

"... Has anybody ever told you that you're kinda scary?" Beat. "Um, in a good way."

Harth considers.

"...Yeah, I think it's happened," he says.

"Though the 'in a good way' qualifier weren't added on."

Now Xander feels kinda bad. Harth probably plays Dungeons and Dragons.

"Um," he replies wittily. "Well, uh, I won't let that influence me."

No wonder Mel never mentioned him.
