There, in the back booth... see him?
The man falling asleep over 'The Kraken Wakes' by John Whydham?
That is Random. Come say hello, the book is good, but conversation is better.

Or maybe the clown is actually just in the next booth over. It may be more logical, but far less interesting. Either way, there is now a clown in the booth as well. He has a book, a drink, and a note. Have at.

He sounds tired, but calm.

"It's happened to me before. I still can barely stand Titus Andronicus for that reason."

He stretches, cat like, and sets his book on the table.
"Have you been sleeping?"
no subject
"So I didn't know you had a brother in the bar."
no subject
"Apparently, I have brothers everywhere. Dare I hope that you met Corwin?"

Raven settles into a seat across from Random.
no subject
"Which one? We're all interesting creatures. Some of us have fangs."
He looks Raven up and down, subtly checking to see that all limbs are intact.

"But you must have seen Grayswandir. The sword with... interesting magic laced into it? What did he ask about me?"
no subject
no subject
"It's Corwin. Straightforward isn't even in his vocabulary. Unless you have at least three double meanings in every sentence he'll assume you're distracting him for a set up and run, expecting to be ambushed."
no subject
Raven nods.
no subject
"Makes family reunions a bitch. How did he react to your teaching me?"

He sets the tea cup before Random nevertheless, then folds himself into the opposite chair, setting his own cup and saucer against the table. "Breakfast should be following, if you should be interested." He has obviously slept, and looks in better spirits again, eyes once more keenly bright, like a blade.
no subject
"I was just about to go get myself a mug. Thank you."
He takes a long sip, eyes taking in the changes in Holmes while he drinks, and smiles as he sets down the cup.
"Breakfast would be lovely."
no subject
He has the Times as well, and sets his cup down to unfold it, apparently content with quiet companionship at the moment. "Didn't you sleep well?" he asks at length.
no subject
"Not particularly. There was a storm, and it's disruption was enough to tip me into insomnia, seeing as I was already agitated. My brother was in the bar last night. It gave me a lot to think about."
He takes a slow sip, and pushes his hair out of his face.
"But you're looking a lot better."
no subject
He waves a dismissive hand at Random's assessment of him. "I am well enough."
no subject
He sips his tea again.
"I like him, though. We used to make paper boats together and sail them in the creek."
He snorts, draping an arm across the top of the bench.
"And chuck pebbles at each others, trying to sink them. We were racing, where too, we didn't know. But it was a race." It is today, too, it seems. Even though Random's trying to get Corwin as far ahead as possible.

Breakfast arrives, and he has to lean back to make room on the table. The fare is very traditionally English, and it apparently involves scones and a full silver tea service.
no subject
"Oh my goodness. The kitchen really knows what they're doing, don't they?"
He lifts one of the tray covers, and his eyes widen.
"As for our race... we're running in different directions, it seems. But towards the same goal. You know how it can be."
