There's a Sidhe princess in the bar.

She's been feeling sorry for herself and been keeping to herself. There's dark shadows under her eyes and a quiet tiredness around her. Now she's sitting in a arm chair and curled up around a book. Tea and breakfast next to her.

"Science fiction. By John Whyndham. An earth author. About aliens taking over the planet and such. Sort of 'War of the Worlds' meets 'Sphere.'"

Did that make any sense at all? He isn't sure.

She nods and smiles a little "Your comfort book?" A chuckle and she indicates a seat next to her "How have you been Random?"

He settles down across from her.

"It is. Surprisingly good, actually. And you?"

She gives a small eloquent shrug and smiles "I'm..here."

A deep breath. "So what has been going on?" Quiet, gentle.

"I have now got a brother in the bar."

Perfectly neutral.

"It's been weird."

This, with a little affection in the tone.

She blinks quietly "Really? which brother?" Not that she knows his brothers really but still.

"Weird good, or weird bad?"

"Weird... good, I think. As in no death. It's Corwin, a few decades older than me."

She nods slowly and smiles "And Your father? any sign of him?"

Curious her eyes focused on him

"No. He's been blessedly quiet, actually."

He smiles, weakly.

She smiles then, a little warmer "Well thats good isn't it? Maybe your brother will help keep him occupied?" She asks hopefully.

He shakes his head.

"Cor doesn't know he's here. Nor would he give a damn. Not that kind of person."

A chuckle and a tilt of her head

"What kind of a person is he then?" Legs cross and she takes a sip of her drink

"The indifferent kind. The world might go to hell in a hand basket without him looking up from his book."

She grins a little at him and then teasingly nudges "So you got all of the high drama in the family then?"

Eyes kind.

"Not quite. But a lot more than my fair share, it seems. What about you?"

She thinks about that for a moment and tilts her head..

"I don't know if I got all the High drama..but I certianally got most of it." She chuckles "Depends on which side of the family"

"Tell me more? What's on the other, non royal side of your family?"

She blinks quietly..thoughtfully.

"I don't really have a non royal side of the family. The only non royal is my grandmother who was half brownie half human..she..was with my Grandfather so that she might join the sidhe courts..he was with her so that he would lift a curse.."

He nods.

"Sounds complicated. My mother, a non Amberite, was with my father for the same reason."

He winces.

"Stupid woman."

She pauses glancing into the window for a moment and then nods "I often thought Gran was stupid as well. But she.." she shakes her head "Her and my father were good to me."

She takes a breath in "What happened to your mother?"

"No one knows. I assume Oberon got rid of her himself, or locked her away somewhere. He fell in lust with a oung witch named Clarissa. Had four boys by her, too."

She blinks at him quietly.

"I'm sorry Random" She doesn't particularly like her own Mother but there are other people out there who do, or did like theirs.

"Sounds like your father would fit in at my court"

"He was. King of the Fae for a very long time. In my world, at least. Ever read 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'?"

"I noticed the name but I didn't want to question..I figured that it was a different world or something"

A chuckle and a smile

He nods.

"That one's something of a fairy tale version, but that's essentially the situation, yes."
