Richard hasn't ventured out of his room. He's been afraid to. But...he's hungry. And thirsty. And...well, the walls are closing in on him.

So there's a Richard in the bar. Looking very bewildered. And hoping his sister isn't around, because she totally creeped him out the night he arrived.

The Triplets staaaaar at Richard for a minute. Then they turn to eachother and giggle hysterically.

They lower their masks and march forward, closing in on Richard.

"What? What are you doing?" Richard backs himself into another chair. Pretty soon he's going to bump into another person. That would be good, right? That would get these...these things to leave him alone...

Except he hits the wall suddenly. And he's cornered.

Another person? What makes Richard think they'll just stop following him around if he knocks into someone? They like Richard....

They like Richard A WHOLE LOT!

Richard closes his eyes, raises his arm to cover his face as much as he can.

"You aren't fighting." Richard can choose whichever Triplet he thinks said this.

When someone just gives up like that, instead of struggling, the torture isn't that much fun.

He drops his arm, looks from one to the other, to the third, and back to the first.

"I don't want to fight," he says, voice trembling.

"You're just going to let us torture you?" Not that that's a bad thing, exactly.

But still. It's not all that much fun when they don't flail and whine and claw first.

Richard whimpers. He cna't help it. Can't surpress it. He's shaking now. Using the wall to hold him up, only he slides down it until he's on the ground.

"Please. Don't...don't hurt me."

The Triplets staaaaaare at Richard. Then they sit. And wait. Staring at him from behind their masks.

This will get old fairly quickly.

And Richard is so NOT their best friend anymore.

When they don't move toward him after a moment, he looks up, cautiously. The three of them staring at him is unnerving. But...they're not actually going to torture him, right? He smooths the front of his T-shirt, wonders where Audrey is and why she isn't here to save him from these...these kids.

Audrey won't be coming to your rescue. Sorry!

"Get us candy. And needles." He may prove useful for other things besides torture and multilation. The witch points him to the bar.

He gulps. "Candy and needles. Okay..." He slinks toward the bar, trying to keep his eye on the triplets as he does.

He returns to them a few minutes later with the requested items. "I...didn't know what you like..." He offers several different kinds of candy.

"Needles." Shock gives him a dangerous look.

The other two grab at the candy and devour it quickly, wrappings and all.

"What...what're you gonna do with those?" Richard eyes Shock suspiciously.

"Sew Joe."

"Who...who's Joe?"

"Our pet." A doll. A rag doll. They just need a few more scraps of cloth.

Richard nods and wipes his brow. For a moment, he was afraid he was Joe.

"Okay. I'll just...leave you alone then?"

Lock turns in front of Richard, blocking his path.

"Shock, have we figured out a way to make Joe alive yet?"

"No."

"Then how do we make him alive?"

"Magic?"

"How about we make him alive like how they make ghosts in a pumpkin."

Shock starts to answer, but her brother smiles from beneath his mask.

"Lock, you're a GENIUS!"

"I know. About time you figured it out."

Does Richard know how to make ghosts in a pumpkin?

Richard's eyes dart from one to the other of the triplets, and it takes one step back for him to hit the wall again. He locks his knees so he doesn't slide down the wall a second time.

"What...are you...gonna do...to me?"

"Give you new clothes!" Shocks shows Richard the pretty new shirt the other woman gave them. It's bright and it's got a hole burned in the armpit.

"Is that...Joe's shirt?" Richard gulps. His eyes dart around, so many people and no one paying any attention to what's going on in the corner.

"Your name can be Joe." All we would have to do is sew you up. And then you'll be Joe.

"I'm Richard." He protests, weakly.

"Not if you want to be Joe."
