Raven is curled in a booth, idly sketching complicated patterns into a notebook.
He looks fairly absorbed in his work, but there is a pitcher of juice and several glasses on the table, as well as a plate of pastries.
He may be inviting company.

It drops out of the rafters in a steep dive, neatly landing nose-first in one of the glasses.

He removes a sheet of paper from his notebook, sketches a small symbol on it, folds said paper, and tosses it lightly into the air.
It heads directly for Ace.

Thus, she wasn't looking for retaliation.
She gets hit upside the head with a paper airplane. Suspiciously she fishes it out of her hair and unfolds it.

"Was it necessary to toss a paper airplane in my drink, Ace?"
It is almost possible to see his woeful expression.

"Raven? When did you become a piece of paper?" Stranger things have happened.

If she follows this instruction, she may see Raven watching her from a booth relatively nearby.

Then crumples the piece of paper and lobs it at his head, laughing.

He laughs, and bats the paper away.
"This place has done things to your brain."

"Hardly interrupting, Tom. Have a seat, if you will. I am simply sketching out some spell patterns."
He gestures to his notebook.
"They are good for teaching, I think."

Sketching out spell patterns?
no subject
"Yes. It is an interesting thing, truly. Though one must be able to see the patterns in order to improvise spells, certain stock formations can be used by those even with no magic. As I have several students here, I thought to make a book they could study from."

He tilts his head.
"The magic of individual worlds is often like that. It is built in, somehow."

"I have, yes. I like her well, I think. We weave different things, I believe, though some of the workings are probably similar. She weaves magic, I think, as you say--I weave the nature of things. It is different, though the effects are the same."

"Pardon me! You seem like the sort of person to help me out. Would you like to try something and tell me what you think about it?"
no subject
"I might be pleased to. What is it that you want me to try, exactly?"

"Oh yes! I love cooking! ..." He looks around, leans over, and in a stage-whisper, confides, "I'm trying to earn a promotion in the kitchen to sous-chef."
no subject
"We will see if I can recommend you for such, then."
He tries one of the muffins.
"This is quite nice, in point of fact."

"My name is Wolf! I think I've seen you around, but I like it when I get to actually meet people
and feed them."no subject
He grins, and tries some of the shortcake.
Which is also good, by the way. Which he will tell Wolf, as soon as he swallows.
Greedy bird.
