Archie looks up at him with a little twist of the mouth that might pass for a smile if you squinted really hard and drains his scotch in one swallow.
"Jason, the werewolf who is in the cells, attacked his lady. It was a set-up. But to get the information to know that it was, I had to be rather terrible to her. And then, after Svava healed Jason, Arithon found out that she and I... well... he was understandably angry and when I finally managed to get him to speak to me, I... well, let's just say I do not think we'll be speaking again any time soon. Or ever. And Svava isn't taking his reaction very well either, he was closer than a brother to her."
He takes a deep breath. Saying it fast didn't make it any easier.
"He gave me the ring to ask her if she'd mary me, and instead of doing just that as soon as I could, I decided to wait for some silly romantic moment. And we did not wait for any of that to do... other things. He saw it as dishonoring her and betraying him. Which, I suppose, in a way it was."
Oops, too much information. Archie blushes fiercely.
"Tensions were high. Jason came to still as a wolf as Arithon had me pressed against the wall by my throat, and Svava's hand was bleeding, and well, things were said in anger and she slapped him. And Arithon hes apparently dicided that this means that he should dissasociate himself with her."
Archie's of the opinion that Arithon just put up with him for Svava's sake, so it goes without saying that he now wants less than nothing to do with Archie.
Obviously, this fellow has some very obvious preconcieved notions that he doesn't seem likely to change. As an outside view, I can safely say you have done nothing wrong.
"I've dealt with worse things without running away." Quietly. "I should be allowed an exception once or twice." She rests her head on Archie's shoulder.

Hello Archie.
*There is a smug smile on his face.*

Archie glances up at him blankly.
"Hello, Tim. How are you doing?"
The words are toneless and hollow, he looks like he hasn't been sleeping.
"You're out. Well done."
no subject
Archie? Whats wrong man?
no subject
He sighs.
"I mucked things up rather terribly, I'm afraid. I can't seem to say anything that doesn't make someone want to kill me. Or at least hit me."
He toys a bit with his glass.

All right, spill it all. And don't worry about me trying to hit you or nothing, I've got no room to speak.

He's upset that the two of you are happy together?

*Tim gestures with his tea cup.*
You did things your way. That doesn't make it the wrong way. Obviously, the both of you thought it was the right thing.
*Tim coughs, flushing slightly.*
I've seen Svava fight. If she hadn't wanted it, you would not be so in one piece.

"She damn well insisted."

She was protective of her man being absued and he's upset? Good lord, what are people thinking these days?
no subject
Archie pinches the bridge of his nose, leaning his elbow on the table.
"It's... complicated..."
No, really?
"I'm not sure how to make things right with any of them."

He shifts slightly, slipping his arm around her waist and turning his face into her hair with a small sigh. Otherwise, he is silent.

"... I just want to go. To get away and not think of things for a while." Softly, with a quiet sigh.

He rubs his thumb absently back and forth across the back of her hand.
"It would still be there, in the back of our heads. And when we get back, it will still be here waiting for us."
There is no question about her going anywhere without him. She's done that already.
no subject
She was very much figuring on him going with her. Not even a question.

"Running away doesn't solve things. Believe me, I tried."
He hugs her tighter.
"But God, how I wish it did."

He's quiet for a moment, stroking her hair softly.
"Perhaps you are right, sweetest, perhaps you are right. Where would you like to go?"
no subject
"I never thought of just- just picking a place to go. I usually went with someone else-" The rest of the thought catches, and she falls silent.

"War, a wedding, another war, a hen's night, healing a friend that had been kidnapped, and Florence. Am I missing any?"
He sighs.
"I don't know any place other than my version of earth to go, and somehow I don't think they'd take it well if I showed back up there."

Most any other time she'd be able to find something there to gently tease him about. Insted, she just squeezes Archie's hand.
"Doesn't have to be there. All sorts of worlds to choose from, really."
no subject
"And every time we'd have to find someone to take us there... Perhaps we could find out way back to Narnia. It was lovely there.
His expression darkens slightly.
"Except for the part about cleaning out owl towers."
