Random's in the bar. He looks surprisingly well rested, though rather bothered.

[Edit: Andres and Random discuss everything; Gorlim and Lee's motivations for their behaviour, sleeping and waking up, and whether or not Andres is joking, and what the exact meaning is of sticking out your tongue at someone. After that, they head off to Random's home via Tarot to spend the night together. Also, Duo and Random discuss the recent evens with Oberon, and his envolvement in Random's out of milliways life.]

"It won't. That was the first thing I figured out before announcing my presence to him."

He shrugs.

"Because Amber's out of time, we're immune to paradox. I'll be fine. And most people who meet Oberon would never like to see him again, I wager."

"I have to say he isn't number one on my list... but probably in the top five." Duo gives him a crooked smile.

"Well, that's not particularly reassuring, but thanks for the thought."

He grins ruefully.

"I owe you another apology, by the way. For the other night, with Holmes."

Duo blinks. Then starts laughing. "Oh geez, what the hell for? I'd obviously stuck my nose somewhere I shouldn't have. I just hoped you guys worked whatever it was out."

...he's so cute when he's oblivious.

Random winces.

"We're working on it. But it's slow going. Thanks, though."

Duo eyes him. "Well. I'm not exactly the best one to give advice, but I guess if you want to say anything...?"

"No. I've been through the possibilities. It's simply a matter of waiting and seeing."

He looks carefully at Duo.

"How is your magic coming? I'm trying to learn transformations, too. But it's slow going."

Duo smiles a little dreamily. "I made myself wings. That was so fucking cool."

Random's eyes widen.

"How? What kind of wings? Could you really fly?"

"I asked Raven if I could get a good look at his, a while ago. He gave me a few suggestions, and yes, I really could! They were taller than me, though, so I kind of fell over in the first fee seconds of their existence."

He snickers.

"I can see how that would be a problem. I'm hoping to learn a complete animal transformation, just for spying. But yeah, I went for a bird."

He snickers back.

"Well, that's on my list too. But I thought it might be best to go for partial transformation first. In case I got stuck. Thay way, I'd still have hands and be able to talk."

"Makes sense. But I've got a bit of a headstart. I regularly shift form and things on a temporary basis for a different kind of magic. So I know there's always a way to un-stick myself, if necessary."

"True. And you have a lot more experience with this type of thing than I do."

"Anyway, lemme know if you manage it. I'm gonna go get some more sleep, I think."

"Go, get well. Rest up. You look like you need it."

He smiles again.

"And thank you, Duo."
