Roland lets go of Moiraine's hand and looks around. SSDD.

Meg doesn't count as polite company. She should be honored.

Roland is currently saying things that he wouldn't say in polite company.

Then: "And she'll be back?"

*Meg probably would be, if she spent the time to think about it.*

She means to be -

*She sighs.* But you know every time she leaves there's a risk. And now she's going to go - manifest herself in full ghostly bloody glory to the person who tried to kill her, and three guesses how that's going to go -

"She's a ghost. He can't -- can he?"

I don't think so - I think the intended effect is that he scream and piss himself, to be exact. If all goes well.

*She rubs her head, wearily.*

But I don't know the rules about ghosts. So who knows?

"Not me."

Pause.

"Shit."

Kinda, yeah, *Meg agrees, with a faint, unamused smile.*

I swear, if that - murdering ghoul ever comes in here again -

She guilted Lilly into this using a load of merde about her 'obligation to her family'. After -

Roland's eyes are blazing.

"She didn't dare."

She nearly cried, *Meg says, in pure disgust,* about the danger her poor son was in -

"She made her choice." Roland is nearly growling. "And it seems she can't protect either of them. Useless sack of shit."

I'm surprised, to be honest, *Meg says, frankly,* that she made it out of here as whole as she did.

She's stupid as well as useless.

"And she just -- came in the door expecting people to serve her?"

Roland wouldn't mind giving her some service.

She came in the door, *Meg says, with a snort,* expecting Lilly to fix all her problems for her, and everyone else to just - pretend she wasn't there, I expect.

Roland is silent.

"The others didn't disappoint, I trust."

. . . like I said, *Meg says, with a faint edge of triumph,* she was lucky to get out only spat on.

Not, *she adds darkly,* before she convinced Lilly to go back and change the past to get her brother out of jail, though. So she got what she wanted. Much good may it do her.

More silence.

"Lilly's changing the past." Flatly.

There is mental swearing going on.

*Meg nods, her face set.*

If she succeeds.

I kinda don't think she will - at least, that's what I'm hoping. No offense to Lilly's brother and all, but in the long run - but time's good at - at fixing itself.

*This is what Meg tells herself.*

"Not only that -- doing that drives you mad."

She's a ghost, *Meg says, hopelessly.*

Maybe it's different.

When I tried, Faith saw - she got nightmares, about it. And nothing's happened this time -

"Once it happened to me. Once it didn't." A rough sigh. "Fuck."

- I meant, *Meg says, glancing away,* when you changed things. They were things needed to be changed.
