Bonnie walked in clutching a clipboard that she was checking off as she went. Funding is a go, approval is a go, there were still things left to do, and she'd left all her dynamics books here. And her laptop. So she was there to do ... a lot of stuff, not all of them related to work, thank heavens.

She and her clipboard took a place at the bar, pencil sketching out possible hydraulics systems.

"Two orders of cheesecake, plese, Bar, in appropriate 'comfort food' flavours," she requested, smiling as two slices appeared, the one in front of her dolloped with strawberries. "...I can live with that," she murmured. "So what's been on your mind?"

Michelle's cheesecake has a layer of chocolate. "I had a fight with a friend a few days ago and I'm thinking that I really didn't give myself enough time to plan this wedding. Which is strange because I'm used to working with very little time."

"Things are always different when it's something that means something, compared to when it's something you just have to do," agreed Bonnie with a nod. "It's easy to get caught up in a thousand different things."

"Like the work you want to do on Karr?" She nods, "I can help stop a war but I'm at a complete loss when it comes to wedding planning."

"Well... start at the beginning."

Bonnie brought over her clipboard and flipped to a clean sheet. "Number of guests--" she wrote as she spoke. "Location, reception... Then, under location and reception, you'll have... participants, your bridesmaids and Tony's groomsmen, the priest, the flowerkids, if you have any..."

She smiles a little and takes a bite of the cheesecake. "You're right I'm...overthinking it." She looks down at the list of things on the paper. "We're going to have it here, we decided."

"Well, that's no limit to number of guests, at least," she chuckled, "and I'd bet the Bar does the best catering..."

She laughs slightly, "Yeah, the bar can handle any number of guests. I think the problem is that I'm not...I'm still a little upset about an argument I had."

"Was the wedding the point of the fight, or is it something that's ... started to carry over into everything?"

"Completely unconnected to the wedding, except for the fact that he's Tony's best man."

Bonnie nodded. "And that makes relations a little difficult."

"And a good friend of mine...it's mostly my fault," she sighs and eats another bite of cake. "Ever get involved in a situation where you probably should have just stayed out of it?"

"...I can think of a few."

Michael Knight. Michelle Knight, in Ray's universe. Helios.

"I gave advice to my friend's girlfriend, he wasn't so happy about that and the fight just went downhill from there." She gives her a weak smile, "I was just trying to help."

"Isn't it, kind of... your business, if you give someone advice, and their business if they take it? I don't think he had a right to get mad at you..."

"I told her that if things were going to end it's better they end sooner rather than later," she shakes her head a little. "Their relationship has a complicated backstory." She takes another bite of the cake. "But as we all know, you can't control who you love."

"God don't I know that," muttered Bonnie, spearing a strawberry with a self-effacing, semi-amused smile.

"How are things with you and Karr?" Michelle asks softly.

"Things are... things," Bonnie said with a shrug. "We're still us. That's... not going to change for a while, if it ever does. I hope it doesn't, really - it makes the partnership easier, at least to a degree."

And you love him

"That side of things can make things easier or more difficult, depending."

Bonnie nodded, picking at the next forkful of cheesecake. "Yeah. When I don't think about it, it's easier."

"Are you two still...together?"

"Huh? Oh - yeah, we are. As together as we've always been. I ... don't think that'll change for a while."

"I just don't want to see my friend hurt, but he thinks that I...betrayed him."

"Betrayed him... for recommending that they treat it like a bandaid? Rip it off faster and it'll hurt less in the end? Yeah... It depends on the love," she admitted, "but... it's hard to hear sometimes, especially when it's true."
