Yes, it is a Cap'n.
Might be hard to recognize really, as he is not wearing his traditional duster and suspenders; can't deal with 'em sitting over his fun new soon-to-be pretty scars, y'see.
Slipping his way to the Bar pretty much unnoticed - he thinks - he picks up some hot tea and finds an overstuffed chair and ottoman somewhere near the observation window.
[OOM: Mal is off for the night, as mun cannot sleep through her alarm clock again tomorrow. If one is particularly interested, tag for a slowtimed convo tomorrow.]

"...So."
"Anythin' I should know about since I last talked to ya?"

"Connor and I split up. Hence the vacation."

"Duibuqi, Faith. Didn't mean to pry."

"Nah, it's OK. Really, it's for the best. He's Immortal, I'm really not, we're still friends, it's good."

"What's this push our chances up to?"
Mal may
or may not bewiggling his eyebrows.no subject
"Get healed up proper, Captain, and then come ask me that."
no subject
"I think I can swing that one, Miss Faith."
Leave the miss alone; he's being genteel.

"No I very much wouldn't, I think."
no subject
"Not much chance you will, I think. You're good people, Captain Schmoopy-pants."
no subject
"Hope I can keep that impression up with 'Nara, anyways. Or the crew entire, for that matter."

Faith whistles, grinning. "Niiice. She's a looker."
no subject
"I hadn't told you that? Wow. And yes, I'm quite proud I managed to keep her on the boat's long as I have."
And no, you are not allowed to blame Mal for the ot3 that just went through his head. Nope.

"I'll have to let her know of your thoughts on the matter."

Faith wolf-whistles.

"I'll remember it."
For a second, Mal just stares out of the observation window. Eventually, he shakes a finger at the view of space.
"Now that is pretty."
no subject
"Yeah, it is. It was pretty nice to see 'em from your ship too."
no subject
"There's this one step in the front where you don't see any o' the controls - just the black."

"Next time we got an outside junction needs fixin', we can send you and Kaylee out there and have you two workin' hard while me and the rest o' the crew's inside eatin' beefsteak."
no subject
"Be nice to me, Captain, or no more trips to Earth."
A beat, and then her expression saddens suddenly.
"I guess I can't do that anymore anyway...my world's not exactly safe..."
no subject
"And? You owe me a trip to a gun shop."
