Sam meanders down the stairs from room seven.
Well, I feel like I’ve had a very long nap. Wonder what I’ve missed.

She sits down at the bar. “Um. Something cold.”
A sorbet appears in front of her.
Sam blinks. Remind me to be more specific next time.

Helen's eyes widen. "Sparta, Many, many years before you." She sips her tea again. "Where is Colorado?"

Sam smiles reassuringly.

"The United States.

..do you know where that is?"

"I have met others from the United States, and even been to North Carolina, thanks to people I have met here. But I had no idea where it was when I came here." She smiles and sips tea. "The States did not exisit in my time, needless to say." She grins.

Sam smiles.

"It's in North America, if that helps you."

Helen shrugs. "Not really. I came from a time when we didn't know that anything beyond our empire existed, I guess."

Sam nods.
"That seems to have been very common.
Things are very different now."

Helen's eyes widen more. "Really? What is it like now?"

"Well, first of all, most of the world has been explored..with the exception of the North and South Poles, Antartica...the Amazon...and a few other places that are hard for us to reach even with our technology.
Also, we talk to other countries. We help each other...sometimes we get into fights, but we try to prevent war.

But I suppose one of the main differences is that we are aware of those people around us and we communicate freely with them."

Helen catches herself before she gapes. "Wow... that sounds...amazing." She sips her tea, now in truly fascinated mode. Tell me more?"

"Well, another difference travel."

Sam eyes Helen thoughtfully.

"I'm guessing that for you it is most common to travel by foot? Perhaps you have chariots?

In my time, we can travel in two hours what would take you several days to walk by a device called a car. Almost everyone has at one.
We also have planes, which travels faster than cars. Planes travel through the air, and can cross the ocean, and can travel the same distance in a few hours that would take a few months to walk."
