*Meg heads into the bar through the front door, and sits down at a stool with coffee and a look of some relief.

She looks like she's had a long day. Which in fact she has.*

Lilly ponders this.

"I guess, yeah. It'd be nice if I didn't break either, but considering... well, stuff, I don't think that's possible."

. . . stuff I already knew, or new stuff? *Meg asks, eyeing her.*

Lilly puts her head in her hands.

"Okay, suitewarming? There was tequila, and a hot tub, and he was really drunk and he kissed me."

She lifts her head, smiles crookedly at Meg.

"I stopped it before it got anywhere, though, and gave him some water. I'm not entirely sure he remembers what happened, but it still kinda killed my whole 'Pete is over me' theory."

. . . yeah, I could have told you that one, *Meg says, rather ruefully.*

Poor Pete.

And down goes Lilly's head again.

"I know," she says muffledly. "This whole thing makes me feel kinda evil. I don't want him to be all sad about me, Meg. I just don't know how to make that happen."

Hey - it's not your fault, *Meg says, earnestly.*

People fall in love. It happens. Three quarters of the time or more it's an idiotic thing to do, it's just - one of those things. It's not like you're leading him on or anything -

Best thing you can do is be his friend, and you are.

Lilly raises her head and smiles gratefully at Meg.

"Thanks. That helps. Well, it helps me at least. And maybe... I mean, maybe if something really does happen with me and Alain, it'll almost be good? In the not leading Pete on department?"

*Meg nods.*

Maybe - I mean, it'll be hard at first, but it'll help him get over it more than it he lurks around going 'maybe maybe' all the time. If that makes sense.

"Yeah, it does."

Lilly grins.

"I may need another sleepover to fully cope with all of this, though."

- now that I think can be arranged, *Meg says, and grins.*
