Breakfast at Milliways

I know you're monrings have been incomplete without the dining car, so isn't it lucky there's one behind the bar right now?

Breakfast Specials
French Toast Casserole
Ulster Fry
Half a Grapefruit.

"What'll you have?"

Ton peers over the bar at the casserole and scrunches up his nose. "I think I'll pass."

Barry, in a t-shirt and loose jogging shorts, arrives for breakfast, nods at the man, and says hello to Dinah.

"That french toast casserole sounds rather like overkill. The kind of thing that can harden your arteries fast.

"Let me have one." He smiles with just a hint of the wicked.

"The orange juice should be fine for now." He digs in. And makes a face of enjoyment.

"Hmmm. Yet another triumph for the Bar. Or for whoever might be on duty otherwise. Though I hear that Gil has left. You hear anything about that?"

Barry nods at the news about Gil and makes a mental note to check in with Suti.

"Well, so far you seem to be making some really good choices. Though a lot of people I know - at least the ones who are still alive and have to watch their diets - tend to like smaller breakfasts. You get much call for just plain toast and cereal?"

"Those things'll kill ya, Barry," Cassie says, slipping into a seat beside him. "Hi, Dinah. Can I have a fruit salad?"

"I'd watch out for that thing," Ton points at the casserole, spitting egg into the air with a hiss. "It's likely to attack."
gone_byebye: (so not me)

"If you've got something simple enough to carry with me down to the cells, and maybe coffee in a thermos, that'd be great," Ray says. "Please?"
gone_byebye: (uh oh)

"Toast is good. Have you got blackberry jam back there? I don't get that often enough back home." He smiles a little. "And black with two or three sugars usually does the trick, thanks."

"Oh! I almost forgot. If you happen to have a bag of volcanic sand back there somewhere, I'm going to visit Naraht- he's in the cells because he's sick, and he eats rock and stuff, but he's not feeling well enough to eat the usual."

"No, he's a Horta," Ray says. "He's, um... He looks kind of like a rock himself. If he were any kind of a vehicle, he'd be some kind of mining machine- his people live underground and burrow through stone. Nice guy, as long as you don't trip over him by mistake and bark your shins."

Ray smiles. "Thanks, Dinah. I'm sure he'll be glad to hear you said so."

"Morning, Dinah!"

Asar-Suti smiles brightly at her. He's not a happy deity at the moment, but he doesn't take that out on the innocent. So he is blithe as ever.

[identity profile] asar-suti.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Lazy," Asar-Suti admits. "While it rains, the garden sort of waters itself."

"I read books," Asar-Suti says.

He foun that the longer Gil was gone, the more he missed him, but he wasn't going to go on moping. Charlie might understand, but he'd leave everybody else alone with that.

"It would not be fair to say; it concerns people from this plac," Asar-Suti says, thinking of his Sherlock Holmes omnibus, and then some.
