*Snow nods*

Good. From the reports I read, the testimony at the Farm trials, she can seem quite nice. Convinced half the Farm that their fight was just, and that by taking up arms they could become 'equal' to the rest of us. She won them over, lead them to their deaths or imprisonment, and abandoned them.

Claire makes a face. "She was. . .too nice if that makes any sense. I told her as soon as she introduced herself that you were my best friend. And then she was just really. . . nice."

She sighs. "She said she wanted a second chance."

*Snow also makes a face*

It makes sense. She's trying to win you over, regardless of logic. She claims to want a second chance, but she doesn't seem the slightest bit repentant. Also, admitting she's taken up a job as a freelance asassin since I last saw her doesn't exactly warm me to her.

Claire glances over at her and lets out a surprised laugh. "No, I guess it wouldn't. She didn't tell me that part."

I doubt she's told too many about that. Not sure why she admitted it to me.

"I suppose she wants to keep you on your toes," she says. "Which she has. . ."

She's not going to catch me unaware. She'll have the same chance anyone has of redemption upon arriving here, but I'm still going to give my friends fair warning.

"You should," she nods. "You can make sure she doesn't get access into the House of Arch can't you?"

I'll check with Tom or Door next time I see them to make sure she doesn't get keyed in, but no one can enter the House without being allowed by one of them, and even if someone brings her in, either Bigby, myself, or one of the children would need to bring her personally for her to be able to access our wing. We're safe there.

"Good," she nods. "That's good."

And now time for a change of subject because she doesn't want Snow to always have to think about Goldy.

"I met someone earlier you need to meet."

*Snow is happy to accept a change in topic*

Oh? Who is it?

"Her name is Sera. And she's interested in helping the children here who need people to look after them. She used to work in adoption services on her home planet. If nothing else she might be a good foster mother, herself. She really seemed to care about children."

*Snow smiles*

It certainly sounds like she's qualified. . . I'll let Virginia know, once we've got things started on our plan.

Claire nods. "You'll like her, she was very sweet."

She shifts Seth in her lap so he's laying down, and she begins to rock him slightly.

"Did I tell you about my new job?"

No, I don't think you have. What did you apply for, with your new identification?

"Bartending job," she smiles. "I've already worked a couple of shifts. The money's much better than I thought it was going to be. And I've applied for school. They said I should be hearing back from them in a week or two."

Congratulations. There's something Milliways would give you experiance in. . . what classes are you taking?

"I don't know yet, really. But I was flipping through their catalogue and I'd like to take some literature classes right now. Indy's still teaching me history, so I'm good there for awhile."

She smiles. "It's just a small college. I'll transfer to a bigger university to learn how to be a teacher when I have some money saved up."

*a smile*

I can give you advice if they touch on anyone I knew back in Fabletown. It'll give you the side of things no textbook will.

"You should tell me those stories even if they don't," she smiles. "I would like to know more about where you're from."

Considering how many hundred lived in the Woodland alone? It'd take forever. Things go quicker if you name someone to start with.

"The three little pigs? Cinderella? Little Red Riding Hood?" she pauses to think. "Oh! Was there a real Sleeping Beauty?"

The three little pigs sided with Goldilocks during the revolution and were executed over a year ago. Briar and Cindy, in that order, were Prince Charming's other wives. We're friends now, still had dinner together occasionally. Red Riding Hood. . . Boy Blue knew her, but she never made it out of the Homelands.

". . ." Claire blinks. "Wow. Disney was way off."

Extremely far off. Frankly, I don't think I can be held accountable for my actions if he walks in the door.
