First Post: Henry McCoy, the Beast

OOM: Pre-Milliways

Hank bounds into the room feet first with the grace and precision only a nearly 600 lbs. cat-like mutant can manage, landing in a crouch with one claw on the ground. He quickly rises to his feet. His eyes widen in surprise as he watches the room, seemingly trying to see it all, and everyone, at the same time.

With an absentmindedly look, his fingers press over a large device in his hands then places it in a pouch on his belt.

Drawing aside from the door to a nearby table he looks around the room, eagerly taking in everything. His eyes glow in interest as he sees the bar and how people react to it. He then catches sight of the observation window. His eyes widen and a smile comes to his face. It is the smile of a child who has fouind a new toy.

"Oh my stars and garters! Breathtaking!"

He stretches like a cat, an almost seven foot tall, and almost 700 pound blue-cat- the shape of a man,a dn then casts his gaze around, his mind racing in amazement.

"But other than that- they're exactly the same? Histories and magics and powers?" Svava bites her lip, thinking.

"The vibrating... is that like... how things aren't really solid, but they're a swarm of... of things all dense together, humming like a swarm of bees? Someone here showed me how to look at things like that, though I'm not sure if I remember how to anymore."

"Well, I don't quite have ways to figure out those vibrations or humms, so I'm just thinking of ways I can use that are a bit easier to see." Svava chuckles. "I've been to a few worlds, a couple of them where magic's worked differently."

She tilts her head, looking at Hank curiously. "But- how could science work or not work? Granted, that's all something I need to learn, but isn't it just... like math, or crafts? Knowing laws and rules and how things are built? Electricity for computers and programing, that's logic and how things are made."

".... I wouldn't think the rules of such things would change." A quiet sigh and Svava shakes her head. "Does the math change, then? The rules for numbers? It would seem much the same, then."

"... Those still do sound like puzzling worlds, Hank." Svava shakes her head, bemused. "What is yours like, then? Science, magic, both, neither? Number six hundred something, you said."

"Superbeings? Like Heros?" The capitalization can be heard in her voice.

"Heros, sons and children of the gods, usually?"

Svava just.... stares at Hank for quite a few long moments.

"It sounds a lot like Milliways here. Um, which gods?"

"... Sif, Balder, and Ydunn- Idun? Those of Asgard, the Aesir were there?" Svava bites her lip, then sighs, looking down at her glass of lemonade.

"Different worlds, maybe. Like Loki and Yamino who are here... Specially the year."

[identity profile] skjaldmeyjar.livejournal.com 2005-08-26 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
A faint, sad smile as Svava keeps watching her drink. "Undoubtedly. Midgard of my Nine Worlds wasn't like your Earth, and... Well. All the Nine Worlds, including Asgard, is gone now."

Her shoulders twitch in a shrug, and Svava raises her glass to take a sip of lemonade. "So... its unlikely they're the ones I would know from my world."

A quiet chuckle, and Svava looks back up to him. "Oh, I do know I'm not alone. I've made more friends here- near enough to family that I've ever known, then I've had before. I'm happy."

"Oh, most certainly, Hank. I'm usually around- There's quite a few people that live here at Milliways, and I'm one of them. I'll see you next tie?"
