It's funny how things happen.
When one hasn't been to a place in a while, one may think about returning to it. But if one is Rose Red, one is worrying more about keeping things running in one's own place, stopping terrorist revolutions in one's own place, and of course throwing parties in one's own place.
This is why it's funny when Rose Red opens the door to what she thought was home.
And it's Milliways.
"... Nice."

Rose! Where have you been?
no subject
"The Farm? Where else would I be?"
Beat.
"... don't answer that. Please. Just don't. Apparently though, you're here. You know everyone's been looking for you, yes? Everyone except me, of course. Figured you'd been here."
The idea of Snow and Bigby having gone missing does not in any way bother Rose Red, who just saw them in Milliways only weeks ago and made fun of them for not being married.
This is going to be confusing.

It's Milliways. It's impossible to know for sure where someone might be if you don't see them for months at a time -- I haven't seen you since November, I think I have a right to worry.
no subject
Not only is it disconcerting, it's really just damned confusing.
"I know I was just here a couple weeks ago. You feeling okay, Snow?"
no subject
Time can be weird. A couple of weeks outside was nearly a year here.
You missed Millie and Wade's birthday party.
no subject
It's hard for Rose Red not to believe something - plenty of unbelievable things have happened, and being a Fable weird defaults to everyday, but that's really weird.
"This is going to make me sick if the subject doesn't change, fast -- so birthday. Going to have more, name 'em after me this time?"
That was a recent conversation, for her.

*The light follows the mun's orders and reflects off of the large diamond in Snow's engagement ring. Which is snugly fit against her wedding band. Gee, was that there before?*
no subject
She squints.
"Well Snow White," Red laughs. "Finally make your kids legal, or is there some new beau?"
no subject
Do you want to try asking Bigby that? And frankly, I'm not sure I should name my child after you if you can't be bothered to come to your own sister's wedding.
no subject
Oh, for sarcasm. It's not yelling, just snarking - and not really mean-spirited, either. Just a sibling thing, one may say.
"And I think I'll refrain from consulting Bigby. I'd like to keep my head."
no subject
Smart move. And I did send an invitation, but the bar doesn't always deliver to the outside.
no subject
She's got an image, now, of four-and-twenty blackbirds trying to open the front door, and that's when she turns to look behind her to glance at it, and -- shit.
"Snow?"
no subject
I've seen some owls, but they only deliver to the wizarding world that I know of. . .
Yes?
no subject
She jerks her head at where the doorway is. Or should be.
"'cause it's not, now."
no subject
It was. That just means you're bound, and I don't need to worry about you vanishing on me suddenly. Come on, I'll get you something from Bar.
no subject
This is her best sarcasm, maybe.
"Not going to reject a drink, but honestly."
no subject
Relax, time doesn't pass while you're in here. The Farm will be as safe as you left it.
no subject
Rose leans against Snow a minute. Here's a rare moment - actual concern for the Farm and actual emotion shown toward her sister.
Kodak moment.
"Get worried sometimes, now."
no subject
I know. At least while you're here you don't need to worry. You've done wonderfully at the farm, and I can't see things falling apart because you were away for ten minutes.
no subject
"Yeah. So. Milliways. If there's anywhere bad to get stuck for a while? It's not a bar. If I've got to be trapped, might as well have fun, huh? What's the drink of the house these days?"
no subject
In general? Asking Bar what she reccomends.
*she moves to Bar's side*
Well, Bar? What do you reccomend for a 'welcome back' celebration?
no subject
When a glass of tequila appears, she just laughs.
"Barman's favourite, right? Or am I remembering fuzzy again?"
no subject
Your memory serves you well. Let's get a seat, I can fill you in on the past year. . .
no subject
"Holy hell, we'll be talking a while. Is this condensable so it doesn't take a year of details?"
no subject
The vandalisim to Bar was repaired and she's made a full recovery, as you can tell, the waitrats have stuck around and I helped Ratty give birth to a new litter of them, Bigby proposed on Christmas -- I still have your christmas present, by the way -- Dream took on the aspect of Nyaratholtep temporarily and everyone had nightmares for two weeks, Morpheus and Moiraine were married, Claire gave birth to Seth, Bigby and I were married and I had to find someone else to be my maid of honor, Svava left for Ragnarok and returned, Bernard and Tonks got married, and Millie killed a deer on her own when we were on vacation.
*she sips her drink*
And what have you been up to?
