Sundays are good. Sundays are quiet.
Nita should probably be doing homework, same as her mun, but instead she's wandering by the lakeside, skipping rocks, and thinking.
Gratuitous Icon Post? What are you talking about?

To that end, there's a guy in a skirt making something of a racket, a bit further inland, should Nita care to notice.
no subject
. . .And the skirt that holds it.
Then she shrugs -- Heck, Nita's a New Yorker, and she's seen plenty weirder -- puts hers hands in her pockets, and watches.

He spots Nita skipping rocks on the lake and heads over. "Hey, Nita. How are you doing?"
no subject
Swing and release -- but it only makes it four skips before sinking. She makes a small noise of annoyance and puts her hands in her pockets, turning to face him.
"I'm okay. You?"

She glances out at the lake. "But this is still a nice place to hang out."

He doesn't notice her at first, when he sits down and looks out at the lake, but does see the rocks skipping across the surface.

She's pointedly not looking at Nita, but is probably playing loud enough to be heard.

She wanders that way, and stands quietly watching, hands in her pockets.
There's a small, sad smile on her face. Random really does play beautifully.

After the silence, she looks up.
"Yes?"
no subject
She gives her a small, uncertain smile. "Haven't seen you around."
no subject
Her expression's still blank.
And then, once she gets the courage to say it, tests the waters of this newfound ability.
You're alive. I was worried.
It's a painful admission.
