After this.

Aeryn is curled up near a booth. She's sitting on the floor, because someone told her people don't notice you as much that way. It's obvious she hasn't been crying. She's so tensed that any act of kindness is certain to make her lash out. Because she just never thought....What if they never let me see him again? She placed her head in her hands. Feel free to kick her while she's down.

"Aeryn?" Amanda approached carefully.

"Amanda." Aeryn's voice was like ice. Cold, hard, dangerous.

Okay probably not the right time to talk about Guppy's suprised party. Internal sigh.

"Do you want to talk?" Not wanting to iritate Aeryn.

"No. Not about it anyway." I want to fly. I want my prowler. But most of all, I want him.

She nods in undersanding, "Can I get you something to eat or drink?"

"Whisky." Aeryn croaked, because why not? The drunker she was, the less she'd remember.

Amanda goes over and orders a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Bring it back over she pours some for the both of them. Passing one over to Aeryn, "Here." taking a seat and quietly drinking her own glass.

Aeryn took the glass, but didn't drink. She was afraid if she opened her mouth she'd scream. Her knuckles were white where she held the Whisky.

"Thank you."

"Welcome." keeping mostly silent. Just letting Aeryn know that she is there. Sipping her drink.

"Do you have any children?"

SHe shakes her head, "No" the word is filled with sadness.

"Why not?" She isn't very tactful at the best of times.

Amanda doesn't mind, "I am unable to bear children."

"I'm sorry." Aeryn had wished it upon herself. She hadn't wanted to make the same mistakes someone had made with her.

"I never wanted children."

"Never is a long time Aeryn." she is a bit sullen, "Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a family."

"I knew what I was going to do with my life. What I would be, how I would live. I knew."

She shook her head.

"Someone like you, who wanted it, should have got it. You would have made the right decision."

Amanda shakes her head, "We all make mistakes, and wanting to have a family doesn't make me immune to making wrong decisions with reguards to them."

"I thought I wouldn't want him. I thought I'd hate him." Her jaw was a line of steel. The whisky in her hand shook.

Amanda's heart is breaking with every word. SHe could tell that Aeryn loved her son.

Amanda drinks her whiskey and watches Aeryn. Amanda has heard that before. Many times, "It's amazing how they can change your heart."

"I wanted to hate him." She finally said quietly. Some of the Whisky slopped on the floor.

but you couldn't

Her eyes are soft as she watches the other woman. They fall breifly to the floor as the whiskey does.

"And now I might have lost him."

"What?" Amanda sounds shocked and horrified.

"I had a disagreement with his godfather and then Richard, his adoptive father, came over."

She was very cryptic when she wanted to be.

"And now I don't know what's going to happen."

"That seems rather childish." she observes.

"There were things said, on both side."

It hurt her to think about it. She flung up the mask. Numb.

Amanda nods.

When speaking of children it is always difficult.

"Thank you for listening." Aeryn tipped the whisky back into her mouth and stood up.

"I must be going." She couldn't afford to break right here, right now.

Again Nodding, "Anytime." She starts working on the rest of the bottle.

Aeryn swung round and blindly, clambering, made her way upstairs.
