Námo sits in a chair near the fire, staring into it, brooding.
He's gotten good at the brooding.
Why yes, it is an imaginative entrance post.

It was too bad that she didn't know this particular man. But that didn't mean she couldn't be curious about exactly why he was brooding. So she watched him from a distance, her head cocked to one side.

His eyes flicker from the fire to the source of the gaze, his eyes focused unblinking on her.
Well. This was someone new.

When he decided to look her way, Abby held his gaze.
Yay, staring contest!
no subject
She is dressed like the young man he had briefly met the other day -- the one named Clive. Who was from Earth.
Hmm.
A lot of people from Earth.

It was a good thing Abby was good at staring contests, though. So she kept on staring. You would think she had a mutant power not to blink or something, really.
Then again, she was pretty weird for a normal human. Although normal was a relative word for her.

Námo makes a decision to nod once to her, a quiet invitation she is free to either ignore, decline or take.
The chairs and sofas by the fire were nice, after all, and the Vala never minded speaking with those in the bar.

She plopped herself down in one of the chairs near him, grinning widely.
"Hello there, handsome." Don't mind the greeting. She did that with everyone.
no subject
"Greetings," he replies, his gaze remaining on her. "You are a cheerful sprite, are you not?"
It is an observation; he needed more cheerful around him.
no subject
"I guess you could say so," Abby said with a bit of a laugh, her pigtails bouncing slightly. "And in contrast, you seem to be a grim mood today."
no subject
"My mind is heavy, yes. It tends to come with age."
no subject
no subject
"Yes. Age. I was created at the dawn of time within my world. I have existed for years beyond reckoning."
He holds out his hand politely.
"I am Námo, Lord of the Halls of Mandos."
no subject
She takes his hand, shaking if firmly. Hey, even if he was super old, that didn't mean he couldn't be cool and all.
"Abby Sciuto, forensic lab technician at NCIS." Not quite a grand title, but she loved her job greatly, so she said with much pride and a flash of a smile.
no subject
"What is a 'forensic lab technician'?" he asks.
no subject
And Abby showed that by her dramatic gasp. She was playing with him, of course.
"I'm hurt that you don't know!" She said dramatically, clasping her hand over her heart. "It's only the best job in the world!" For her, anyway. She then pouted.
no subject
"I am sorry, sprite, but our world does not have such a title. We have Lords and Ladys, Kings and Queens, but not forensic lab technicians. Forgive us," he says just as dramatically.
no subject
"Hmm. I wonder if that would make Gibbs a Lord and the director a Lady..." She murmured to herself absently, getting off track for a moment. She couldn't help being amused at the idea, although she didn't like the director much. Then again, if you were assigned an assistant forcefully and were attacked by said assistant, you wouldn't either.
But anyway.
"Oh, I suppose it's only reasonable I do, since we don't really have Lords and Ladies in our world anymore," she said with another dramatic sigh. Hey, she was having fun.
"A forensic lab technician is someone who examines and analyses crime scene evidence, whether it be items, human traces, or whatnot."
no subject
"Crime scene?"
His world's extent of 'crime scene' was what was left after the most recent war.
no subject
"Yeah. Murders, rapes, kidnappings, disappearances, robberies...you name it." They certainly didn't seem like things that a girl like her would be involved in, but hey. That was Abby for you.
no subject
"Those tend to go unpunished in our world while they live. Once they die, though, they come to me and find punishment and redemption."
Námo tilts his head.
"What is the purpose of viewing these scenes? What is it you hope to accomplish?"
no subject
"We look for things that tie the people responsible for the crime so we can let them pay for the crimes they've committed. Sometimes it can be impossible, but that's where I come in."
no subject
"The whole dungeon thing?" he asks, but knows that is not the right word. "Prison. That was what Jack called it."
no subject
"And Jack? You've met Jack." He hadn't seen the man in a while, but if he was talking about Jack Bauer, well, she knew him.
no subject
"I have spoken with Jack Bauer on two occasions. He is full of knowledge that he was kind enough to pass onto a very inquisitive Vala."
