(no subject)

Námo sits in a chair near the fire, staring into it, brooding.

He's gotten good at the brooding.

Why yes, it is an imaginative entrance post.

Brooding was not something that Abby tolerated well. She usually threw jokes at her co-workers when they got broody.

It was too bad that she didn't know this particular man. But that didn't mean she couldn't be curious about exactly why he was brooding. So she watched him from a distance, her head cocked to one side.

Well, it was hard to miss the gothic girl, wasn't it? She managed to stand out in the bar, despite all the black that she wore. Then again, she did wear some bright red as well, most often her lipstick.

When he decided to look her way, Abby held his gaze.

Yay, staring contest!

Indeed, she was from Earth. Whether or not the same one as Clive was questionable, but she was definitely an Earthian. Or whatever the word was.

It was a good thing Abby was good at staring contests, though. So she kept on staring. You would think she had a mutant power not to blink or something, really.

Then again, she was pretty weird for a normal human. Although normal was a relative word for her.

What kind of curious little goth girl would Abby be if she turned down the offer? So of course she took it. She brightened visibly at the acknowledgement and invitation, and she got up from where she was settled, bouncing over to the brooding man.

She plopped herself down in one of the chairs near him, grinning widely.

"Hello there, handsome." Don't mind the greeting. She did that with everyone.

Well, Abby was unique like that! Plus, it was a compliment, so nothing to complain about there, right?

"I guess you could say so," Abby said with a bit of a laugh, her pigtails bouncing slightly. "And in contrast, you seem to be a grim mood today."

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-07 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Age?" She cocked her head to one side, looking curious. After all, he didn't look that old. Then again, she figured that one should never assume here at the bar. Everyone was from...well, everywhere.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-07 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that was quite old, wasn't it? It was probably a good thing that Abby had never cared too much about anyone's age. She was very open about...well, everything. What did you expect from a girl who slept in a coffin?

She takes his hand, shaking if firmly. Hey, even if he was super old, that didn't mean he couldn't be cool and all.

"Abby Sciuto, forensic lab technician at NCIS." Not quite a grand title, but she loved her job greatly, so she said with much pride and a flash of a smile.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-07 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't know what a forensic lab technician was? What a shame! What a crime!

And Abby showed that by her dramatic gasp. She was playing with him, of course.

"I'm hurt that you don't know!" She said dramatically, clasping her hand over her heart. "It's only the best job in the world!" For her, anyway. She then pouted.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-07 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, she was liking him more and more as time went on. After all, you had to hand it to someone who played along with her dramatics. It wasn't very often that people indulged her.

"Hmm. I wonder if that would make Gibbs a Lord and the director a Lady..." She murmured to herself absently, getting off track for a moment. She couldn't help being amused at the idea, although she didn't like the director much. Then again, if you were assigned an assistant forcefully and were attacked by said assistant, you wouldn't either.

But anyway.

"Oh, I suppose it's only reasonable I do, since we don't really have Lords and Ladies in our world anymore," she said with another dramatic sigh. Hey, she was having fun.

"A forensic lab technician is someone who examines and analyses crime scene evidence, whether it be items, human traces, or whatnot."

Abby nodded her head before elaborating. She really didn't mind explaining it, since it was her passion and life's work.

"Yeah. Murders, rapes, kidnappings, disappearances, robberies...you name it." They certainly didn't seem like things that a girl like her would be involved in, but hey. That was Abby for you.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-07 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Different kind of justice system, huh? Well, she figured that worked, too. But she liked her system.

"We look for things that tie the people responsible for the crime so we can let them pay for the crimes they've committed. Sometimes it can be impossible, but that's where I come in."

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-08 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Same difference, I guess," Abby said with a grin. Because they were both lock ups, anyway.

"And Jack? You've met Jack." He hadn't seen the man in a while, but if he was talking about Jack Bauer, well, she knew him.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_hinky/ 2005-12-08 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"How is he doing?" She asked, cocking her head to one side once again. She hadn't had a chance to check up on the man. She really should do that, see how he was holding up.
