Breakfast at Milliways

Dinah is behind the bar again, with amsile as dazzling white as the ice cold milk she's decanted into brekafast jugs, the breakfast specials once again with a holiday theme:

Breakfast Specials
Cranberry Pumpkin Waffles
Eggnog Muffins
Half a grapefruit.

"What'll you have?"

"OK, then," Dinah accepts this, and tilts her head at Amanda. "You wanna talk about what's botherin' you?"

"It's just the same old thing. Make a friend and then they have to die." her chin is resting in her hand while she seems to study the piece of waffle that is on her fork.

"Oh,"

Dinah's face falls in sympathy.

"Oh, Amanda, I am sorry."

"It happens right. And at least i get to spend a little mor time with her." a small genuine smile forms.

"I guess so," Dinah says, softly. "What's wrong with her?"

"She was dead when she got here and the time has come for her to return to the afterlife." Possibly hell. Bt that isn't for Amanda to say and she really is trying to avoid thinking about it.

"Oh I am sorry," Dinah repeats. "Was she a close friend?"

Amanda nods, "Yes. Though I suppose she isn't gone yet." her mood starts to imporve a bit more.

Dinah's mood brightens right up.

"Of course she isn't," she says. "And you've got plenty of time to spend wiht her before she does go!"

"I think I will." Amanda gets up, "Thank you." she takes off in search of her friend.
