There's a Darien at the bar, sipping on coffee that's more sugar and milk with some coffee than the other way around. He's also munching on a breakfast sandwich of some sort.

He's edging on needing to go home, but he's got a couple more days till he has to head out and he intends to enjoy them.

He chokes.

"I meant Charlie and I."

"And what's that supposed to mean?"

"Just that we've yelled enough things at one another to not need to do much yelling anymore. I'd like to think that he'd have told me if I'd been here."

"I just meant that if you knew me, I don't know how you can say he deserves me."

It's a chuckle, but a sad one.

"I'm a wreck, man."

"Oh. You're a good guy, underneath, you know, the..."

How to phrase it, how to phrase it.

"Everything."

Good going, David.

"You're not a wreck, Darien."

That just gets a snort and an eyebrow raise.

"Believe me. I'd know if you were."

"Been spying on me, Dave?"

He shakes his head.

"Scout's promise, I'm not a stalker."

He laughs.

"I'm kidding with you, man."

He smiles.

"Would you like me to stalk you? I have that wonderful vampiric stealth thing going for me."

He smirks.

"I'm difficult, you know."

He grins.

"I could always smell you out."

He grins.

"Quicksilver obscures the scent. You'd have to figure something else out."

Like any sort of infared.

He clicks his fingers.

"Damn."

He chews his lip.

"Well, that's me screwed for ideas."

He grins and lays back.

He gets a tongue stuck out at him.

He grins.

"No showing unless you're going to use it, Davey."

He grins.

"Now now, nobody's called me that in a long time. And I will not use it properly only because I know Charlie can bite me in the kneecaps."

And Darien laughs.

He smiles.

"Glad to hear that sound again," he says.

He looks at David in confusion for a moment before finishing with a few snickers.

He looks at Darien innocently.

"What?"

He looks at David before slinging an arm around his shoulders.

"You're a decent guy, Davey."

He leans against Darien.

"Well, thank you. You're not so bad yourself."
