Faith shakes her head.

"A couple people have, in the past, but not recently, no."

Havelock looks thoughtful.

"Well. How long has she been gone that you know of?"

Michael thinks for a moment.

"I haven't seen her for at least two weeks."

"I think it's been longer than that, for me..."

Havelock nods slowly.

"You say her world is... dangerous. How? Can she not take care of herself?"

Havelock is used to immortal or superpowered beings and other assassins.

"She's human. Unpowered."

Faith nods agreement.

"She had a slight case of zombie, once, but she's over it now."

Havelock raises his eyebrows slightly.

On the Disc, people don't tend to 'get over' being zombies.

"Something about getting struck by lightning", Michael adds helpfully.

"I think a golf cart was involved too. And possibly the supporting cast of 'Frankenstein.'"

Yes, she knows Havelock won't get that. That just makes it funnier.

He doesn't, but his reaction is no different from what it would be if he had.

"...Indeed?"

Michael shoots Faith an amused look, tempered by worry.

"So, anyway... she's baseline human."

"And there's all kinds of nasties in her world that could get her."

Faith falls silent for a second, remembering recent conversations.

"And not just in her world, either."

"No?"

Idly he wonders what attracts such danger to an ordinary human.

"No. She's had... trouble, here."

He knows, too.

Faith looks at Michael, carefully.

"Fairly recently."

"Is it very likely this... trouble could have recurred?"

The intonation on 'trouble' matches Michael's perfectly.

"It's not impossible, far as I can tell", Michael says grimly.

"Asmodean was here, she said. From before. You know how time does strange things here...she said he scared her."

"He caused the trouble you mentioned?"

Havelock is keeping up as well as he can.

"No, I don't think so. She wouldn't tell me who it was, though."

"She told me. It wasn't Asmodean...but she said the person thought she was dead. If he came back and found otu she wasn't..."

Havelock glances up at her.

"I see," he says quietly.

Michael is silent.

Faith looks down.

"She was scared."
