(no subject)

There is a dazed, much out-of-it Vala in the bar.

Seated in a booth, nursing a glass of Atlantean, he is staring off into nothing. Not brooding. Not pensive. Just... a bit off.

He would not mind distraction and company, though.

She takes no offense. Two of her dearest friends are gods.

"If I can offer any advice on the matter," here, she chuckles briefly, "it is to simply take the changes as they come. They may and probably are swift, but they will also past with equal swiftness."

"Has such a change come to pass?" A slight smile.

"Congratulations," she says with a warm smile.

Hey, her supervisor is about to become the father of a goddess, by way of another god and the god's sister-goddess. Námo is refreshingly normal in comparison.

"I have no children of my own, but I can imagine the prospect would be overwhelming."

She chuckles. "A dear friend of mine is becoming a father for the first time. And has said much the same thing."

He's in good company. Children still terrify Sara, though Lindsey has helped ease that.

"Such will probably be good practice. How long until your son is born?"

A blink. "A full year until birth? Huh--I suppose I'm far too accustomed to the human 9-month cycle."

It's difficult for humans to pinpoint conception to the exact date. But births tend to be memorable.
