There is a dazed, much out-of-it Vala in the bar.

Seated in a booth, nursing a glass of Atlantean, he is staring off into nothing. Not brooding. Not pensive. Just... a bit off.

He would not mind distraction and company, though.

On her way past, book in hand, Sara catches sight of the Vala. He isn't Melkor, and so she isn't as wary.

"Are you all right, sir?"

"This place lends itself to such," she says with a wry smile. "My name is Sara."

"Suilad, Námo," she says with a tolerable accent. "Lord Elrond has taught me some of Middle Earth."

Well, she can't very well tell him she loved reading The Silmarillion, can she?

When in doubt, err on the desire not to break someone's mind.

"Aman--the Undying Lands, if I remember correctly. I hear they are beautiful."

Lee, in a much-improved mood, is more than willing to distract. He's about to do so with a cheerful kiss, until he notices Namo's less-than-cheerful mood.

"What's wrong, cher?" he asks, sliding into the other side of the booth.

[identity profile] not-a-redshirt.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
He nods, understanding.

"So it's done?"

[identity profile] not-a-redshirt.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
He reaches gently for Namo's hand across the table.

"You look like you are, too."

"Lord Mandos?"

Elrond stands there, his eyes puzzled. He is dressed in contemplation robes today, and his hair flows down his back bound only simply.

"Is all well with thee?"

His voice is quiet, and filled with respect.

[identity profile] elrond-healer.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am well, Lord. You just seemed... distarcted. If there is aught I can do, please let me know."

Elrond has changed both in his time on Ea and here in Milliways. His appreciation for change and for the races of Men and Humanity has grown as he has lived tyhrough strange days. Thus it seems strange and yet fitting to offer aid to one he sees almost as what the human would call a God.

[identity profile] elrond-healer.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Your Sight is gone here? Or doesnt work here?"

Elrond considers this, which almost shocks him.

"Change, now that I can relate to... some. For most of my life, I was taught that the Eldar were grounded in order and solidity and that this lack of change made strength. In the last years on Ea, and now here, I am learning that I was wrong. And it is... disconcerting, even as it is sometimes... wonderful."

That last is spoken very quietly.

There is a not'Castle hanging about nearby, absently sipping a mug of hot chocolate and humming the theme to the X-Files.

[identity profile] humanityscholar.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
The stranger stares back, head tilted.

"Am I doing something distasteful?" His voice is oddly monotone.

[identity profile] humanityscholar.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Why is that bad? You aren't reading or trying to listen to anything."

Non-Therans confuse him.

"Do you not like the X-Files?" he hazards. At least he's trying to understand. Laura, he feels, would be proud of him. "If you don't, I'll be happy to hum something else."
