Emcee is, of course, on the dance floor.

He's shirtless, wearing leather shorts, combat boots, thigh-high fishnet stockings, and shimmery black fairy wings.

What's most striking is his makeup -- a swirling mix of sequins, feathers, paint, and long, wispy eyelashes. There's also glitter in his hair.

He also has a plastic pumpkin-shaped bucket filled with glow sticks and glow-necklaces and bracelets in neon colors. Everyone who dances with him will get a little treat...

Jay sets the next track going and bounces down to wrap an arm around Emcee's waist, kissing him soundly. "You sexy thing, you."

He too is shirtless but wearing a long leather jacket open at the front and sinfully tight jeans.

Instead of lipstick, Emcee opted for a sheen of lightly opalescent lipgloss, just in case he ended up making out with anyone.

It's almost a given that he would make out with Jay.

"I could say the same for you, darling," he chuckles, leaning into his hold. "You have quite the flair for the macabre."

"I am the undead. I am the night." He looms, giving his voice that deep, menacing tone of cheesy horror movies.

Emcee clutches the lapels of Jay's coat. "Oooh, you make me shake in my boots," he purrs.

Holtzmann, who is only here because there is fire and things that go boom in the night are her specialty (lies, there's also booze and music and really hot people but the primary cause of Holtzmann is fire)... was clearly dressed by committee.

That committee was drunk.

And possibly on mind-altering drugs.

And could only pick from clothing found at Goodwill.

Still, despite all of that (or because of it), it all goes reasonably well together. Loud t-shirt ('ENGINEER because badass problem solver isn't a job title'), trousers, socks that match neither of those (or each other), suspenders, penny-loafers, and a bison-skull necklace really all did come out of the same closet.

But see, there's this other guy here, and he looks like he had the same idea, just with makeup. Holtzmann approves - boring people are just so... boring.

Appreciating the view, she pulls down her glasses to get a better look.

A string of remixed '80s and '90s Madonna hits pumps through the sound system, and Emcee adores every second of it as he dances with abandon. For someone who came out of the '30s, he has acquired some modern dance moves. But there is a certain timelessness to just throwing your arms in the air and shaking your booty.

Said booty is nicely clad in those little leather shorts.

As soon as Emcee turns and notices the woman with the incongruous outfit, he flashes her a grin. He stretches his arms out toward her and crooks his fingers at her in a come hither gesture while a dance remix of "Like a Virgin" plays.

It'd take some kind of miracle to keep her away, really. She was just looking for an excuse.

Holtzmann dances exactly like someone who was told for years that she couldn't dance, really, and then one day wholeheartedly decided that the world had it completely wrong. Her sense of shame got left behind with her dedication to modern fashion, as evidenced by how she gleefully joins in.

Unlike other people Erin, she does not believe in quiet finger dancing.

The rest of the world is completely wrong, especially when it comes to dancing and fashion.

Emcee meets the woman's glee with utter delight, as they both seem to use every moveable body part as their whim dictates. This. This is what dancing means.

It's what life means, too, but also dancing.

Emcee invites her to bump hips. Hip-bumping is good for the soul!

A punk girl appears nearby shortly after Jay starts spinning a particular song. She looks like she could be the girl the vocalist is singing about, what with her spiked blond hair and all. And she dances (deliberately) like the music is a lot more hardcore than it actually is.

Emcee has never seen anyone dance quite like that before! He will have to further investigate the "punk" genre and all it entails (although to his unwitting credit, his personal style verges on some sort of hybrid of punk and goth).

But for now he dances as the music moves him, so his movements are not as fervent as the girl's, but he does take some cues from her. He catches her eye and flashes a grin.

"'Sup?" YT says, not-quite-shouting over the music. She tones down her dancing a little to make it easier to carry on a conversation. "Killer makeup job. You do that yourself?"

Also, is he sharing those glowy things?

"Why, thank you, I did!" he chirps. "I may need to take occasional time-outs throughout the evening to make sure I haven't sweated it all off, but so far I think it's holding up."

Totally sharing the glowy things! He offers her a dip in the bucket of all sorts of glow-in-the-dark trinkets.

"I like your ensemble-- the handcuffs are a clever touch."

Watch out, it's a wolf-whistling witch! Ursula, with black dress, broom, and red hair bow, shimmies an uncoordinated shimmy over to Emcee and gives him a big wave.

Emcee twirls around at the sound of the whistle, and a bright grin spreads across his face. He meets her halfway with a shimmy of his own until they're shimmying together.

"Ursula, darling, you look quite witchy tonight!"

"You look right at home here! I love the wings! Did you do it all yourself, or did Bar just have everything for you?"

As far as Emcee is concerned, any dancing is good dancing, even awkward Charlestons.

"I daresay that a good party is my natural environment," he chuckles. "And thank you! I did my own makeup, the Bar just supplied all the material upon request. When I was here the Halloween before last, she automatically dressed me as a character from-- I have to remember this title correctly-- The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I don't know if you've heard of it? I was in high heels and a corset."

He offers her a dip in the pumpkin-shaped bucket. "Would you like a glow-in-the-dark trinket?"

He is being watched by a woman in prison khakis and work boots, though whose long black hair, however, peek the tips of newly grown elf-ears. She ogles the glow sticks.

Now, this looks like a good party, from the good life long before prison...

Emcee's glittery wings flutter as he dances. Sometimes he dances by himself, but he's usually joined by someone else before long. It's almost as if people have queued up to do so.

By this point in the evening, he has strings of glow-in-the-dark mardi gras beads around his neck.

Always on the lookout for a new dance partner, he sees the bespectacled brunette on the sidelines watching her. He's not sure what she's dressed as yet-- a factory worker? A mechanic? Who happens to be an elf? He smiles at her and entices her over with an elegant gesture of his fingers.

"And what have you come dressed as?"

He doesn't address her pointy ears because around here, she could actually be an elf.

He looks much better than Guppy, who has not got used to his tights, and feels a bit of a prat when he waves at him.

Gil however runs up to Emcee straight away, as does Brooke, who are both pleased with their makeup.

aaah stampeding children

...Okay, so it's not a stampede. But Emcee is still getting used to getting attention from little children.

And he can't help a good-natured laugh at Guppy's tights. "Oh, Doctor, those are very becoming."

He gets down on a knee to their level. He, too, is pleased to see that Gil has not eaten the rhinestones glued to the leaf patterns on his brow, and that Brooke's pink-sequined ninja star is still intact on her cheek.

"Happy Halloween, lieblings!" he chirps, all a-sparkle, as he offers them a dip in the pumpkin bucket. "Do you want a glowy trinket? Pick something out for your Daddy as well."

Because Guppy obviously needs more attention drawn to him by wearing something that's glow-in-the-dark.

"I feel a bit exposed." Guppy admits. "Around the nethers."

Brooke shoves Gil out the way to thrust her hand into the basket.

"Thank you." she says, picking up a glowing necklace.

"Brooke, careful, he's only little." Guppy says, helping Gil back up.

"Daddy would like a pink one." Brooke says innocently to Emcee.

"I think that may be the point in some way," he chuckles.

He is a bit taken aback at how Brooke so easily pushes her little brother aside, and he doesn't reach out in time to steady him. But Gil doesn't seem fazed by it and is up on his feet again.

"You're welcome, liebling," he says, holding the bucket out to Gil.

He then looks up at Guppy, amused. "It seems that your children are intent on making you wear pink, Doctor."
