This would be the second time he's been at the door to Milliways with a large, sharp object except this time the object in question is an axe and he's a great deal less focused.
Or rather, over focused.
Or rather, overloaded.
"Wood? Fire? Warm? Baby!"
...no, that's probably the most intelligent thing he's going to say till he meets his son. For the moment, however, he's staring around as if he'd just woken up, blinking and trying to process the bar that seems to have replaced the firewood pile and the chopping stump.
[ooc: for those who've read the Malloreon, I'm sure you can tell what this is: Geran is in the middle of being born. For those who haven't, here's the short story: Garion is completely and utterly gone right now. His brain is overloaded. Think of it as a bezerker gone backwards; he can only process the simplest of ideas or commands and everything is, for the moment, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Feel free to stop by and confuse him, mock him, or try and remind him that he should probably go home and check on his wife. For anyone who'd like to read how it happened in the books, click here for a laugh.]
[ooc: for about a half an hour, I must travel home. back for more crack soon] [...the guy at the store I went to was SPECIAL. I apologize for the delay but hey *grins* NEW CANON!]

"Gar? What are you going on about?"
no subject
He's looking for firewood, don't you see? WOOD. For the FIRE. To make it warm for the BABY.
"Baby!" he reports as eloquently as he can.
no subject
"Baby...oh now?! The baby's coming? Where is she?"
He stops and gives Garion a chastising look. "What the hell are you doing down in the Bar when your wife's in labor?"
no subject
Blink blink.
Wait a minute. He's in the Bar?
"I'm in the Bar?"
no subject
"Oh man, you're gone. Why doesn't that surprise me?" He snickers and claps Garion on the shoulder.
"Yes, you're in the Bar. Is Ce'Nedra back in your world?"
no subject
He grabs Jason again, as if Jason doesn't understand just how SERIOUS this all is because she's having THE BABY.
no subject
"Yes, I know. She's having the baby. Do you need to get back to your world so you can help her?"
Well in Jason's world, it's the man's job to get the bones in his hand broken and not pass out.

Somehow, Felix has only ever managed to meet Garion at less than his best.
"???"
no subject
He turns and looks at Felix with a blink.
"You can talk in question marks? That's AMAZING!"
Then he's back looking for wood. Those chairs look good...
no subject
So that's what Felix looks like when he's utterly confused!
no subject
Hey, cut him some slack. His brain's just not cut out for this.
He stares at Felix as if he were insane.
*cough*
"For the fire! To make the room warm for the baby."
Blink.
"CE'NEDRA! The baby! We're having the baby!"`
no subject
"Um... I'm afraid I don't have any wood at the moment, but you might try the forest outside."
no subject
"Of COURSE! You're BRILLIANT! That's a BRILLIANT IDEA!"
no subject
"Ah... Thank you. Would you mind setting me down first?"

'Hello Garion,' he says absently. 'It's the most amazing thing, you'll never guess what I've just...'
A look up and his voice trails off upon seeing the vacant look in his grandson's eyes.
'...Garion?'
no subject
"Grandfather! The Baby! Ce'Nedra's having the baby! Baby!"
Wait, where did the axe go? There it is, in his hand, amazing, isn't it? He picked it up. It was BRILLIANT.
"Need wood! For the fire for the baby! Did I tell you about the baby?"
no subject
'Baby? Um...right. Well. Good?'
Weeeel, lookit where he gets it from.

He looks around to see if, perhaps, Ce'Nedra is right there with him.
'Where are they?'
no subject
no subject
"Need wood."

As if Charlie were dense.
"For the fire? For Ce'Nedra? To keep the baby warm. To keep the room warm for the baby. My baby."
He beams and starts looking at the chairs curiously.
no subject
And then he bounces and hugs. "Baby! Congratulations! Yay!"
no subject
"Wood! Yes! For the Fire! Ce'Nedra wants a nice big fire! For the baby! My baby!"
He looks down at Charlie curiously.
"I told you about the baby, yes? The baby that we're having right now who needs a warm fire. And wood. For the fire. To make it warm."
That axe is in his hand again.
