Oh, Logan

He's in the bar, looking far too pleased with himself. He ought to be wearing a button reading: "I'm a genius! Ask me how!" but alas, he is not.

One reason is the upcoming date with Hannah. A masterstroke of manipulation, dating the daughter of the fake witness against him. Plus, she is supercute.

The other? Logan has a hip flask. Full of whiskey. And he shares. Usually.

"Hi," he says, beaming at her. "What's up?"

Happiness should totally be contagious.

"Just spent about a year at home, how about you?"

[obligatoryass]

"Nowhere near that long. Like, a week," he says. "And things don't totally suck right now, so that's cool. How about you?"

[agirllost]

"That's always good," she agrees. "Things are okay at home, I've been working on my thesis and taking care of my daughter," she smiles slightly. "And my Dad's back here."

[obligatoryass]

Logan smiles back. "Nice," he says. "What happened that he wasn't here?"

Silly Logan. It's a long story, of course.

Her smile fades, "Some things back home," she tucks some hair behind her ear. "It's kind of like a spy story."

"I got back a few days before he did, this time."

[obligatoryass]

Logan nods. "That's cool. So things are still good with you guys?"

[agirllost]

She smiles, "Yeah, really good. Although he does seem to like watching Lord of the Rings a little too much."

She doesn't mention that he came back into the bar close to death and horribly injured, but why ruin a light story.

Logan grins. "Well, you know, those fight scenes do kind of rock," he says. "And Liv Tyler is totally hot."

Yeah, there's such a lot of woe, why add to it?

She grins in return, "I liked Orlando, yes, I admit it. I think my Dad likes it because he's a Tolkien geek anyway."

[obligatoryass]

Logan laughs. "Not me, I'm just a Liv fan. But Miranda Otto was sexy too. So really, you can't go wrong with it."

[agirllost]

"Is that how you judge films, Logan?" she teases gently.

[obligatoryass]

"Hey, I'm a guy," he points out. "I like hot chicks, good fights and explosions. Don't tell me you're more of an art-house girl?"

[agirllost]

"Don't I look the type?" She smiles slightly. "No, I'm really just more into comedy and romance. Besides, a lot of action movies are just the same movie over and over."

[obligatoryass]

Logan laughs. "Wouldn't have pegged you for one, no. I mean, I like a good comedy, too - did they have Wedding Crashers in your world - but different stuff blows up, so it works for me."

[agirllost]

"They did, I caught it on DVD. It was really funny." She smiles, "It's weird how our world's both alike and different, isn't it?"

[obligatoryass]

"It's bizarre," he agrees. "But kind of cool to know that stuff does translate. Sometimes talking to people form the really different worlds gets tough. We have to explain everything."

[agirllost]

"Although they usually have to explain everything too," she points out. "That reminds me, our President actually has your name, Charles Logan."

[obligatoryass]

"Oh, totally," Logan says. "It gets frustrating all around."

Pause. "Really? That's kinda cool, I guess. Is he any good?"

[agirllost]

"It's a good way to experience very different cultures though."

She glances at him, "I think you'd make a better President."

[obligatoryass]

Logan winces. "Ouch. Cause I'd be totally awful. Sleeping with interns and ignoring policy."

Pause.

"Maybe not so different from a lot of other presidents, though."

[agirllost]

"I'm too young to really remember Clinton," she smiles slightly. "I'm kind of biased against our President anyway...what is yours like?"

[obligatoryass]

Logan wrinkles his nose. "I'm not a big fan. He doesn't drink, is an evangelical Christian and likes to get into wars in the Middle East."

Pause.

"Did anything weird happen on Sept. 11, 2001, for your world?"

[agirllost]

[ooc: hee!]

"He sounds like a real winner, too. We almost had a huge war a few years ago but my Dad helped prevent it...um, long story."

She glances down, "Yeah, something bad happened...did it happen on your world, too?"

[obligatoryass]

"Nice to know someone's doing something right in your world. I'm wondering if anyone is in my world."

Logan frowns. "World Trade Center?" he asks.
