Oh, Logan

He's in the bar, looking far too pleased with himself. He ought to be wearing a button reading: "I'm a genius! Ask me how!" but alas, he is not.

One reason is the upcoming date with Hannah. A masterstroke of manipulation, dating the daughter of the fake witness against him. Plus, she is supercute.

The other? Logan has a hip flask. Full of whiskey. And he shares. Usually.

"So... people will just think I... make really weird choices about eye color."

Eh.

"Well, yeah," Logan says. "Or you could get contacts colored your normal eye color. Whatever it was."

Logan would never admit that he'd noticed another dude's eyes. Even though he thinks Behrooz's were brown.

When they're golden and unhuman looking, they suddenly become much more noticeable.

"Yeah, I guess so."

Pause.

Randomish segue time.

"You said once... there was a shark in the lake?"

Logan frowns, a little freaked out by the intensity of color. "I saw one, once. Doesn't mean it's still there."

Logan never talked to Ed, though, and he's okay with not knowing the details of the shark's powers. "Any reason you want to know?

Well, Behrooz's mun can always sidestep it if it'd freak him out too much.

He does say, "A girl I talked to yesterday mentioned him."

Logan nods. "Yeah? In reference to what? Dinner?"

Naw, Logan's fun when he's freaked out. And it'll wipe that smirk off his face.

"... she said it talked to her."

Whee.

Yeah, that smirk is gone now. "Oh."

Beat.

"What did it say?"

Um.

"She said it talked about... blood..."

Pause. "I didn't see him."

"Yeah," Logan says, trying to lighten the atmosphere a little. "That might be on par with the creepy door thing you got."

Carefully, "So he didn't... talk to you?"

Logan shakes his head. "No, I was out on a boat one day and saw the fins. Girl I was with said he wasn't dangerous, so I didn't freak out or anything, but I didn't stop to chat, either."

He nods faintly.

"Just... wondering..."

Uh-huh.

Logan nods. "Kay. I'll let you know if I do have a conversation, then. Anything I should ask specifically?"

Pause.

"No. It's not that important."

Logan nods. "OK."

He pauses, and rubs his forehead.

"This is the... being hard to read..."

Logan looks baffled. "Uh, yeah?" he offers. "But you know, in this case, it's cool."

He thinks about it.

"I... don't really know what I'm afraid of, just saying it."

It's not like he knows Logan's prone to make some RomulusandRemus-TeenWolf crack.

Logan? Make a stupid Teen Wolf crack that would go right over Behrooz's dear, oblivious head? Never.

"Saying things is the hardest part," Logan says. "And it's not like I can really help. I don't think."

"Probably not if you... come from a world anything like mine."

Logan shrugs, smiles. "So why worry? It's not one of the top ten things to stress over. Now, if you never tell me, I might perish of curiosity, but I'll keep you posted on that."

"Right. But I guess you're risking dying of shock if it really is that weird."

"It's really a toss-up, isn't it?" Logan says. "I'll leave it to your conscience to decide."

And of course he's laughing. Behrooz made a joke! This is a good sign.

Behrooz can make a joke.

... ok, so it never happened in canon, but no one jokes on 24 and... he had to get a girlfriend somehow.

But Behrooz is sort of smiling, and maintains it when he says, "There were animals that started following me in the woods."

Beat. "Well, only one kind."
