(no subject)

Mun's never done a multipup post before, so here's to new experiences.

A man and a woman are having breakfast at a table. The man has chosen a seat with a very good view of the door, which he is watching like a hawkbat. Jaina said she would be back soon, but "soon" could be days or weeks or who knows how long.

Jag's never been in Milliways without her before, which is part of the reason he's hanging around Tahiri this morning.

As for the aforementioned blonde, she's picking at a bowl of fruit and browsing idly through Master Windu's accounts of Jedi history. The parts about the Clone Wars are rather interesting. She's got her lightsaber and Security badge but isn't particularly alert for trouble, seeing as the ghostcurse thing has been dealt with.

[OOC: Feel free to tag, but specify if you only want one of them. Otherwise, please wait for responses from both.]

Chloe takes a seat at the table, leaning the blastsword that she really was carrying all this time, the mun swears it! against the chair leg.

She frowns again, studying Jag. "Who spit in his coffee?"

Intruding in to other people's lives is much more fun than finding someone who can fix this blastsword right now. Especially if said someone isn't around.

Jag seems to be resolutely ignoring the pair of blondes now. And if the boil of annoyance is anything to go by, he's not happy about discussing personal matters with strangers.

Tahiri supposes she should respect those wishes-- if Jag is unhappy, Jaina will be unhappy when she gets back, and if Jaina is unhappy then Zekk is unhappy and if Zekk is unhappy... well, it's a big mess.

"So this is the broken blastsword?" she asks, nodding at Chloe's weapon. "Where'd you find it?"

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe shakes her head. Prying in to other people's buisness has become much more fun.

She points to the man again, still looking at Tahiri. "Hey, my question first. So, what's going on with him? Why's he all gloom and doom in a bar at the end of the universe?"

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Tahiri shakes her head. "He's always like that. Chiss, you know."

As if that explains everything.

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I don't," Chloe replies, rolling her eyes.

She looks over to the man again, leaning her chin against her hand as she thinks over snippets of the conversation.

"This doesn't have anything to do with that Jaina person, does it?"

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe eyes him doubtfully. "I thought Jedi weren't supposed to have attatchments or anything like that."

See, Pete? She paid some attention to the last movie.

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Tahiri glances down at Master Windu's datacards. "We're not exactly that kind of Jedi anymore."

Even though Master Skywalker wants them to be. Stupid Master Skywalker.

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe's eyes follow Tahiri's to look at the cards with the weird scribbles.

Curiously, "So what type are you, then?"

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"New Order," she replies. "I could get more specific, but I don't know your name or where you're from, so it's hard to find context."

The last part sounds almost apologetic.

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Chloe Sullivan. Earth, 2002. Tahiri, right?" Chloe nods towards Jag. "Does gloom and doom there have a name?"

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, Earth. Figures." She grins. "Yeah, that's Jag. He's not very friendly."

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Doesn't take a genius to realize that." Chloe returns the grin with one of her own. "So, how'd a guy like him end up with a Jedi wife?"

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe's rather used to being glared at. Comes with the whole nosey reporter gig.

"I make it my buisness to know what's going on. You never know what type of story's lurking underneath it all."

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Tahiri shakes her head as Jag goes back to his meal. "Okay, so where did you get the blastsword?"

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"If I tell you, will you answer my questions?"

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Tahiri glances at Jag. "Depends on the questions."

She nods at her own Security badge. "I'd really like it if you'd answer mine first."

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe sighs, frowning a little. But gives in. After all, she's rather proud over how she obtained the sword.

"Guy named Janson. He's a pilot from your world," she adds in, in case Tahiri doesn't know him. "Traded a mechanical pencil for it."

Chloe nods towards Jag again. "So, gloom and doom plus wife? How'd that happen?"

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Janson?" she laughs. "Somehow I'm not surprised. What's a mechanical pencil?"

She waves a hand dismissively at the grim pilot. "They met during the war. He smiles a lot more when she's around."

[identity profile] torch-reporter.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"What war?" Chloe asks automatically. And then raises an eyebrow over in Jag's direction. "You really mean to say he smiles?"

The blonde teenager reaches over for her shoulder bag, pulling out a handful of pens and pencils, including an orange and pink mechanical one. She slides it across the table to Tahiri. "That's a mechanical pencil."

[identity profile] shaped-jeedai.livejournal.com 2006-03-05 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yup. It's rare though. And it was during the Yuuzhan Vong war, about ten years ago more or less."

Tahiri picks up the pencil, frowning slightly as she turns it over. "He traded a blastsword for one these? It looks like a child's flimsistylus."
