(no subject)

In one of the more shadowed corners of the bar something stirs, tawny-gold fur catching the light.

It is a Lion, head coming up off his forepaws, solemn golden eyes watching the patrons as they pass by.

Aslan has been here for quite some time.

"And I shall miss you again, then," she says, though it's said rather cheerfully.

You cannot keep him, after all, like a pet.

"Have you been very busy?" She does not pretend she knows what he does when he is not here, so it seems a reasonably question. She is certain he does something.

She smiles at that and rests her head on his flank, near his tail, fingers gently smoothing at the thick fur.

"I'm glad it is. I'd be quite sad if you never came here."

Or spend even more time trying to give Caspian and her brothers grey hair.

One or the other.

Maybe both.

She grins against him and answers with, "I'm good at it, I think," lightly flicking the fail back.

"Sometimes it's harder than others, but it's very good right now to be so."

She is content.

"Caspian's well, and Susan's well, and Peter's well, and Ed's--well, he's quiet, but still, it's hard not to be."

"I think so."

As for Lucy, anything that isn't well she's not about to bring up, she doesn't think, and most things are.

"It's hard, a little, to talk to him any more. Or Peter, really."
