Harold's outside playing when he hears a strange noise. Being a three year old, and thus curious, he decides to investigage! He shall become Harold, supersluth!

mmm. Bushes. Noise coming from bushes..
oooh. Green thing! ...which somehow reminds him of his friend Yellow Thing or PikaPika!
Which makes Green Thing a potential friend, YAY!

"HIII!"
Then remembering Pikachu, there's a delighted "PikaPika!"

Bulbasaur turns around at the familiar greeting, and is surprised to find a young human instead of a wee yellow beastie. Still, the child seems happy enough to see it.

"Saur bulba, saur saur!"

oooooh. Green Thing talks different.

"Saur?

Pikaaaaa!!"

"Saur Bulbasaur saur," it introduces itself, setting the clippers down. "Saur saur bulba?"

Harold may not get that he's introducing himself. He likes the noiises. They're pretty!

"Buulba-bulba.

Saur.

SaurSaur.
Saaaaaaaur."

That earns the little boy a crinkle-eyed smile. "Saur bulba bulbasaur saur, saur bulba! Saur bulba, sa saursaur bulbasaur."

It tilts its head. "Saursaur, bulba-saur?"

Harold's kind of getting the hang of the babble-speak.
..well, it's babble to him.

"Bulbabulba Saur Bulbasaur Saur Saur Bulba!"

Bulbasaur's eyes grow wide, and its cheek twitches as it tries to keep a straight face.

That... has to be one of the funniest jokes it has ever heard!

The creature's shoulders begin to shake, and it chuckles, then laughs outright. "Saursaursaursaursaursaursaur! Saursaursaursaursaursaursaur!"

It takes a few deep breaths, then repeats the punchline: "'Bulbasaur Saur... Saur Bulba!'"

Oh, that did it. The pokémon rolls over on its back, short, stubby legs kicking helplessly, and tears roll down its cheeks. "Saursaursaursaur! Saursaursaursaursaur!"

It'll get ahold of itself shortly, really.

Harold GRINS and continues.

"Saur SaBulba Bulbabulba SAUR Bulba! BulbaBulba SaSaur Saur Bulba!"

Is it possible to laugh harder? Bulbasaur didn't think so before, but evidently it was wrong. Good thing it had set down the gardening shears.

"Saursaursaursaur! Saursaursaursaursaur!"

Oooh, its little tummy is starting to hurt!

Eventually the mirth subsides and the creature lays there for a moment, panting, before lurching back to its feet. Still breathing hard, it pats the boy on the back with a whip-like vine. "Saursaur bulba, (huff huff) bulbasaur bulba, bulbasaur."

Harold pats him.

"Saurbulba bulba saursaur."

"Saur saur," the pokémon agrees, then pulls out a thermos from underneath the bush and sits down. With a deft twist of a vine it removes the cap, throws back its head and takes a gulp. Mmm, lemonade.

"Bulba, saur?" It offers the thermos to Harold.

Harold nods.
"Saur."

He takes the thermos and drinks from it.
"SaBulba."

Bulbasaur beams. "Saursaur!"

It gestures at the shrub it had been ~~hacking to bits~~ sculpting. "Saurbulba bulbasaur, saur?" Yes, the pokémon is looking for creative feedback from a three-year-old.

Harold looks at the shrub thoughtfully and then grins.

"Bulbabulba saur - Saursaur bulba," Harold begins to point and guesture to the parts of the shrub that he's talking about, "Sasaur Saur bulba, bulba Saur BULBA SaSaur Saur bulbabulba saursaur."

A firm nod.

Pure Genious! Why didn't Bulbasaur see that before? "Bulba!" It grabs the shears and starts snipping away, humming as it works. Minutes later, the creature steps back and admires its ~~handiwork~~ vineywork.

Much better! The fox's head and body are well defined now, but the tails could probably use more work. "Bulbasaur, bulba?"

Harold grins wide and bobbles his head enthuastically.
"SaurSaur, Bulba!"

Then pointing to the tails, "Bulbabulba saur bulba?"

Hmmm. "Saur."

snipsnip "Saur?"

Nodding, "Saur Bulba."

A wide grin, "Bulbabulba, Saur bulba bulba Saur SaSaur bulba saur bulba!"
It does look quite nice now.

Bulbasaur grins back, and stows the shears safely underneath the bush where no-one will accidentally trip on them. "Saur-saur!" it says, with satisfaction.

The reptile looks at the little boy and speculates. Maybe he would like to see some of the other things Bulbasaur has done? "Saurbulba, saur?" it asks, walking away a few steps and gesturing toward a nearby path with its head.

Harold follows Bulbasaur eagerly.
"Saur!"

Of course he'd like to see them. It's like drawing, only with shears.

The pokémon keeps its pace slow so that the boy can keep up. After a fairly short trek through the woods they emerge in a clearing filled with carefully ordered weeds and wildflowers. Toward the back there is a little quonset-hut formed out of trellises and kudzu vines. Off to one side a pair of trees support a swing made out of a dead branch and sturdy rope.

"Saur saur bulba." the creature says, welcoming Harold to its home.

Harold's eyes widen.

Impressed, he gushes. "SaSaur bulba Saursaur bulba saur bulba!"

Bulbasaur blushes and shuffles its feet. "Saurbulba," it says, modestly. "Saur, sasaur-saur. Saur?" it gestures broadly, encouraging the toddler to look around.

And so Harold shall.

Harold walks around slowly and squees and point occassionally to the pretty flowers. "BULBABULSA SAUR!! SAURSAUR BULBA!!!!"
