Toga Party

Atop a long table in one corner of the bar sits a row of punch bowls containing ladles and various cocktails: from margarita to plain screwdriver. These are accompanied by several bowls of ice, some containing various bottles of beer. There are stacks of plastic glasses, paper plates, napkins, and a large pile of ivy wreaths at one end. The drinks are buffet-style at this party, so help yourself.

There are plates scattered over the residual tables in the area, some overflowing with huge bunches of grapes, others containing savory fare such as chicken legs, hunks of bread, olives, cheese or humus dips.

To try and give an impromptu impression of a Roman/Greco theme, the tables have been topped with white tablecloths and chairs and surfaces strewn with ivy. If there had been a way to fashion columns or import colonnades in twenty four hours, Indy would have tried it. But ivy will have to do on short notice. At least its not poisonous.

"Tell me another one, Claire." Ace hoots as she calms down, just a touch. Enough to ensure that no leaves have fallen out of place. That'd be bad.

Nice present for the recently resurrected though.

"Ace, seriously. Falling for Sawyer would be suicide." She reaches a hand out to help Ace up.

"He'd freak out if he thought I liked him like that. Heck, I bet he'd freak if I even kissed him in public."

She has done that actually, but that was before they were sleeping together. And also? See how she's managed to not deny it?

"I'm not saying show him the toga in public, sheesh. Besides, if you did, you might consequently break the 'no sex in the bar' rule, and that'd be bad. I'd visit you while you were locked up though." She replies cheekily.

And Tim has already proved that he doesn't need to move any of the leaves.

"Thanks, Ace." She smirks at her friend. "So you think if I wear the toga for Sawyer, he'll what, exactly?"


Smell that? There's a wager blossoming here.

"Don't be daft. What do you think he's gonna do if he sees that getup?"

Claire rolls her eyes too. "I bet you a lapdance in Vegas, he doesn't do anything more than make a smart-aleck comment about it."

"I think someone cute, blonde, and Australian once warned me not to take bets in the bar. However... you are goin' down, mate." Ace grins, made slightly reckless by extreme happiness.

"It's a deal." She grins. "How will you know I'm telling the truth?"


It's not like she really loses if she loses the bet, if you think about it. Because then she gets Sawyer and a lapdance in Vegas. And if she wins? She gets to see Ace blush harder than she ever has.
