Toga Party
Atop a long table in one corner of the bar sits a row of punch bowls containing ladles and various cocktails: from margarita to plain screwdriver. These are accompanied by several bowls of ice, some containing various bottles of beer. There are stacks of plastic glasses, paper plates, napkins, and a large pile of ivy wreaths at one end. The drinks are buffet-style at this party, so help yourself.
There are plates scattered over the residual tables in the area, some overflowing with huge bunches of grapes, others containing savory fare such as chicken legs, hunks of bread, olives, cheese or humus dips.
To try and give an impromptu impression of a Roman/Greco theme, the tables have been topped with white tablecloths and chairs and surfaces strewn with ivy. If there had been a way to fashion columns or import colonnades in twenty four hours, Indy would have tried it. But ivy will have to do on short notice. At least its not poisonous.

"It's a rollercoaster, you know that right?"
He's trying to look stern, it's not working. Not only is her laughter contagious, but he's pretty well hammered himself.

"Pink is ugly?" she asks him, eyes wide.
no subject
"Not always."
Grinning.
"It just doesn't hide bruises like green does."

"Now where's the fun in that?"

"See, I've never been to DisneyLand and even I know that."

"If it's bruising Baby wants, then it's bruising Baby gets. and if you never let go, you can have what ever you want.
no subject
"Well, what if I don't want any bruising? What if I've had as much bruising as I can take for now, at least?"

He can't help it, absentmindedly his hands begin to toy with the fabric of her toga. Flattening out pleats, and just enjoying the overall sensation of the material.

Then, she shuts her eyes, panicks for a second takes another risk, and leans towards him, kissing him on the lips.

As one arm holds her close, the other traces its way up her back, resting at the nape of her neck.

This is... this is new. She's kissed before, obviously, but it's not once felt like this.
Now she's just scared it will stop.

The taste of the tequila lingers, but somehow she manages to make it sweet. It creeps up on him, the feeling of being cold. Of there being a draft. The realization that he's totally flushed and close to panting while wearing nothing but a sheet and a pair of boxer shorts.
He smiles.

The movement of his lips breaks the kiss, more than any conscious effort on her part, and she gazes at him, her mouth still close to his, inhaling his breath as he lets it go.
And she smiles back.

"would you toss me off a roof if I asked for some help getting to my room?"
no subject
"Probably not," she says, grinning.
no subject
Instead of asking her the actual question, he steals another kiss.
"you see," he explains, "some idiot cut my cast off with a hacksaw, and now i'm all dependent on the kindness of others."
no subject
"Remind me to beat the crap out of that idiot," she says, tucking her arms underneath him and lifting him easily. "Or thank him, whatever."
Now she's standing, with him in her arms again.

With his arms around her neck, Mel and Mike exit the bar, and head up the stairs to Rm. 134.
