Draco was out back, toward the woods. Currently practicing creating a Patronus, but of course for somebody who's rarely truly happy, it's very difficult. Wearing his Persian styled wizard robes, better for the on-coming summer weather while he practiced.

But on the next part, he paused. The best. There seemed to be many. But moments where he was truly happy? Seriously? There were moments, but something tinged them. Maybe because he was taught to suppress his emotions, not be so obvious.
But happiness, pure joy? When?
"...I don't know." he quietly said.

*He tilts his head.* Never had a moment when emotion has filled you and lifted you over every worry or care?
*The cat tuts, perhaps pityingly.*

He blinked with some surprise.
"No."

No blissful, unconditional moment of happiness, comfort, love, trust, safety, or relief?

"I'm not sure." Maybe something from earlier. When he first learned he was going to Hogwarts, and no, even then he was being reminded how his family had always been Slytherin, and he should be no exception.
Wasn't there anything?
Something from early childhood? Maybe?
He concentrated, and tried the Charm again.
It was brighter, but still no discernible shape.
"Blast..."

Friendship?
*The not'cat is still trying to
wheedlehelp.*Freedom?

But freedom? That Draco latched onto.
That moment when he felt free of the Dark and the Light. No sides. No Dark Lord to have to bow and scrape to. To be able to go anywhere, escape the trappings of his world.
And a real smile appeared on his face.
"Expecto Patronum!" And this time, the glow was bright, and there was something distinctly fox-shaped about the form emerging from his wand this time.
Draco couldn't help laughing a little as it slowly faded, "I did it."

It was freedom, then?
That was mine, too.
*He lets go about three feet above the ground, to drop, landing lightly on his feet. Of course.*

White not!fox meet white not'cat.
His fox eyes were still grey though.
Cheers for that.

Welcome, of course.

But then nodded, and went to bound away.
