Happy Hour

Indy and Veronica did Happy Hour together last week. Indy's heard about it ever since, from a deeply (if perhaps a bit theatrically) wounded Lilly. His protest of "but Princess, I've been asking ya to do Happy Hour for ages and you've always said it sounded like too much work" fell on deaf ears, but eventually he figured out how to make it up to her.

Lilly's getting her own Happy Hour. She's behind the bar, chalking up the specials list with a serious look on her face. There's not much that Lilly takes seriously, but alcohol is on the list.

That's why the specials are mostly shots.

She smiles triumphantly up at the board celebrating a few of her favorite things. The liquor bottles are within easy reach. The shot glasses have been washed and lined up. Her skirt is shorter than her apron. This is as close to ready as it gets.

"What up, Milliways? Who wants a drink?"

"Hi, Trina."

Lilly tosses her hair over her shoulder and shrugs.

"I don't work here, actually. I'm just doing Indiana Jones a favor."

"Oh, of course," says Trina, easily.

Because, honestly, that makes a lot more sense, with what she knows of Lilly.

"How've you been, Lilly?"

"Dead."

She smiles sweetly.

"But you already knew that. Pretty good, actually. The brothel and the paper have been keeping me busy. How're you?"

"Married."

She smiles every bit as sweetly.

"But only briefly. And good. Trying to be less busy."

[awesome_lilly]

Lilly blinks at that.

"Wow, you started early. Uh, congratulations on... your annulment? I'm guessing this was a Vegas thing, huh?"

"Not that early. Just sort of, let's say sudden. It sounds so much better than drunken, don't you think? And, yeah, Vegas, ex-boyfriend, I assume it made sense at the time. I don't actually remember it."

"Drunken Vegas wedding with an ex that you don't remember?"

Lilly grins.

"Damn, Trina. That was how I planned to do at least one of my weddings. I think an awesome first drink is on the house to celebrate an awesome first marriage."

"Oh, the ex I remembered," says Trina, deliberately misunderstanding. "Turns out I remembered Chad in very accurate and vivid detail. But I never turn down a drink. But I'm not sure what would count as an awesome first marriage drink. Surprise me?"

[awesome_lilly]

"Not a problem."

Lilly peers under the bar, adds a little of this, a little of that, shakes it over some ice, and pours a creamy looking beverage into a champagne flute and adorns it with a white lacy parasol.

"There you go. One White Wedding, on the house."
