"Except I can do it."
"I don't care. Maybe that's the way things work on planet Starbuck, but the rest of the universe doesn't see it that way. It's too risky."
"For a lousy pilot."
"For any pilot that values his safety and his ass."
"Frak Safety, it loses them, doesn't it?"
"Sure, at the cost of your equilibrium and you position of reference. You might be able to do it, but anyone with an ounce of self-preservation shouldn't even try it."
The sounds of Apollo and Starbuck's good-natured arguing float down the stairs before they're seen clattering down to find some dinner. Two muns, two pups, tag one or both.

Maybe he'll buy her a ring. Who knows if he'll ever actually give it to her though.

*Zak had given her a ring and insisted that she wear it, whether or not she said yes. And she had worn it and eventually she had said yes*

"Most people do what they want, when they want. It just varies how successful they are at it."

*There isn't a time that would be too late. Unless...she knows that when they go back she'll lose him and if she, or gods forbid he, dies, then it'd be too late*

He reaches across the table to squeeze her hand.
"Smile, it's a good day."
no subject
Yeah, it is.
*She eats more jambalaya and contemplates sneaking a couple bites of the cake before she's done with the meal. It's not dessert after all...*

"I think I'm getting jealous of the cake. Enough of that and you won't have any need for me."
no subject
*She offers him a spoonful*

"Mmm... It's... alright."
He can still think of one or two things he likes better though.

*She says it just to get a rise out of him. She hasn't met a food that's actually better than sex*

His voice is dry, hiding the disappointment.
"You can have mine then too."
Suddenly he's not so hungry.

He frowns a little. Men are apparently touchy when you question their sexual performance.
no subject
Yes.
*She dredges up what Mike said a week ago*
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries?
no subject
"Okay, fine. Sorry."
He looks up at her uncertainly.
"Do you really think it's better than sex?"
no subject
I haven't found anything that's better than good sex. Bad sex...yeah, it's better than bad sex.

*She's not upset, she's amused*

"That'd be a good tattoo."
