Chairs set out, a gazebo at one side of the garden. Little bunches of flowers decorate the makeshift aisle.

It's a warm sunny afternoon, with no sign of rain, perfect for a wedding.

"Married women - and some married men - wear a ring. On this finger." He holds out his left fourth finger as best as possible. "It symbolizes that you are married. I have no idea why, but it's a old custom."

"Oh." Makita makes a mental note to ask someone about this. It sounds interesting.

"Embarrassment?" Makita's experience in the realm of romance is, speaking generously, minuscule.

He thought she would at least know this much. Just how bad are things at home that the rules of marriage are a mystery?

"You don't flirt with married women. Their husbands wouldn't be very happy about that." This is putting is mildly, from what Knox ahs seen of jealous lovers and violent crime.

"Oh, that makes sense." It's probably that by the time she was old enough to notice those sorts of things, there weren't many married couples left alive.

"Yah. It's safer for everyone." He smirks, glad he's always been smart enough not to chase anyone currently married. "And it does make a nice ceremony."

Makita nods, "It's interesting." With the war going on, and so few of the adults still around, ceremonies are becoming less and less common. Other than funerals anyway.

Knox sees the other members of the party starting to gather. "I should go take my place. I'll catch you after the ceremony. Go sit with Raps, maybe?"
