Considering how almost nobody came to Happy Hour the last few times, CJ had a novel idea:

Change the start time.

Post-Midnight Happy Hour

- Any drinks with tequila, half off.

If the trend repeats itself, CJ will have some answers.

Come order a drink, the OG does not bite.

The note caught him by surprise, but once he is done reading it CJ grins and slides over the counter. "Guess ya wanna really calm night, hm?" After giving the counter a pat, he writes on the board.

Shufti is in a booth, keeping an eye out for suspicious people or anyone who wants to pass on information.

She's not the lead on the case, but she's been keeping an eye on things in order to do her bit. Her security badge is visible pinned to her front, and she's polishing her sword on the table.

The door opens. CJ looks in, then lets it close.

The door opens again a couple minutes later, and the OG returns, pushing a nice motorbike inside, the kind you use to travel long distances. It has a large comfortable seat for two and saddlebags. The name emblazoned in chrome on the fuel tank is simple and extremely descriptive: Freeway.

CJ moves it to a spot near the back door, but out of the way of people. Feel free to ask why he brought that amazing piece of machinery in.

There's a pwing! and a flash of blue light, and a big white bear is settled in at one of the tables with a sign that reads:

Some days Belar just doesn't feel like wandering around human-shaped.

It hasn't been nearly as long on Teyla's side of the door as it has been on this side. She's still very much pregnant, very much worried about her missing people, and very much in need of some time away.

A bowl of ice cream and a mug of tea by the fireplace are just the thing.

Morning, and we have a CJ taking a break.

You see, he has a terribly important decision to make today.

Which baby carriage to buy for his second kid.

That is why he is by the fireplace, looking over flyers and booklets and other material. Right now, CJ is reading about something called 'the urban assault baby carriage', which is, from what the large pictures show, the SUV of baby carriages.

He does not know if the proper response to it would be a laugh or cringing in disgust.

On a break from Holiday season shopping and organizing, CJ is at the Bar this morning.

He is divided between pondering taking another bartending shift (even if people seem to avoid the bar like the plague when he is behind it) and a book.

Which book? "Maintenance Procedures of the FGA-8 Hunter Jumpjet". Someone is expanding his mechanical knowledge.

It's been a quiet winter morning back home, and now the Manackle-Johnson gathering are sitting near the fire, working on letters to Father Christmas*.

Leah, being only four months old, is more interested in eating the paper than writing on it. Shufti is trying to encourage Jack to take an interest in letters though, so the nearly three-year-old is doing proper writing with mummy.

"What would you like for Christmas?" She prompts him.

Jack considers the question.

"A bucket. Wiv an octypus in."

Beat. "Um... what about a fire truck? You like fire trucks."

As Jack nods enthsiastically, she starts to write it down for him.

Barney's... doing a little better than when we last saw him, but not by much. The spectres of the past are coming back in droves, and it's not a pleasant thing at all. He doesn't need this in general.

He especially doesn't need it when he has the future of their world to worry about.

The firing range, however, is something he needs very much. It's simple: the target, the man, and the gun. He's got the submachine gun he brought with him when he got pulled into Milliways, and he's not missing. Other distractions are always good, though.

Ravin Lichvell is sitting at a table: she was already wearing midnight blue silk robes and carrying a grimoire, so Bar just gave her a pointy hat. Costume done.

Scarlet the Devil is going around with a tray of drinks and assorted snacks. Bar picked for her a rather skimpy maid outfit so she decided to play the part.

Carl "CJ" Johnson is wearing full Jedi robes. He has no idea why Bar dressed him that way, and right now is just waiting for his wife and children to show up.

He would not mind some conversation.

Ben Winchester is still in the Rebel Alliance Flightsuit, and while on the lookout for his friends, he is also entertaining himself with an EU book or two.

Ryu Hayabusa has no idea why he is dressed in a chinese jacket, pants and shoes, and why his hair grew enough for a braid, but he is playing along for now. Of course, it might change if people start assaulting him with cold water to test the completeness of the costume.

CJ has been feeling restless since life is almost too peaceful at home. So, the OG has been up to some hard work: beating the crap from the punching bag and later he might plan to use whatever he has in the large totebag nearby to blast away some targets at the shooting range.

Who knows, right? But now, OG, punchbag, outside. The chilling autumn days of mock-scotland make for good weather for hard exercise.

CJ is again behind the counter, ready to serve drinks a-plenty: patting the counter as Bar goes into a very much needed 'nap', he grabs the Big Book of Drinks and sets up the board:

Shufti has spent Leah's naptime doing Security paperwork. With the baby now awake she has come into the main bar, since the office isn't really the place to entertain her.

They're now near the trilobite tank, with the addition of Jack.

CJ comes out of the infirmary, smiling brightly. Hugely. Widely. Getting to the middle of the room, he climbs on a table and makes an announcement:

"All drinks are on me tonight, Bar will be handing cigars too. That's all people. Going to watch my wife and first daughter sleep... after I check on our son." He hops off the table and goes relieve Alex of babysitting duties.

It's nearly time, and Shufti has been having contractions all morning.

Knowing from experience that the actual labour will probably take quite some time, she is sitting quietly in the bar with a hot water bottle, trying to keep Jack entertained whilst she waits for CJ.

Jack is playing with building blocks next to the table, oblivious to the moments when his mum's face creases with the pain of a contraction.

Shufti feels... big.

Jack's at nursery, which is a relief, but she feels like she's carrying a baby hippopotamus in her belly.

She pauses and leans against the bar, feeling short of breath and wondering how far exactly she is in her pregnancy. Because nothing is now certain. It's one of the hazards of going between two worlds.

She glances around for something nearby easier to sit on than a barstool.

Shufti isn't really in a position to be doing much else, at present. She can move around all right, but the backache isn't fun and the baby seems to have taken up martial arts in her womb.

Jack, for once, is being incredibly well behaved and drawing pictures with crayons.
