There's a brunette sitting across the bar from me, chattering away with Bob. Slayer's sister. Though, mostly, she goes by Dawn.

She suggested that as a precursor to Earth's Independence Day tomorrow, that we have, as tonight's specials, the following:

"Thank you," she says, grinning at him. She takes a sip of the wine. Not being much of a wine drinker she wouldn't know if it was a good wine or not, but she likes it well enough.

[wizard_dresden]

"You are more than welcome."

I lean on the bar. "Where've you been? Busy with muggle-things, or whatever it is?" I know what she does... I really do - I just don't remember what it's called.

[capt_angie]

"Muggle-things," she says, laughing. "Yeah, something like that. Work's been really busy the past few weeks."

[wizard_dresden]

I wince. "Sorry. I never can remember your job title."

[capt_angie]

"I'm an Obliviator," she tells him. "I spend half of my time cleaning up accidental magic and the other half of my time making muggles forget any time they happen to see magic. It's not important though. To be honest, I'm thinking about quitting."

[wizard_dresden]

"And why is that not important?"

[capt_angie]

She shrugs. "Because, it's just a job. And okay, it's a kind of important job, and someone has to do it, but it isn't exactly what I pictured myself doing with my life."

[wizard_dresden]

"So, what would you rather be doing?"

And if that's not an open-ended question...

[capt_angie]

She shrugs. "I don't know... Profesional Quidditch, maybe," she says with a grin.

[wizard_dresden]

"Oooh. That could be interesting."

I blink.

"Or dangerous, considering you could fall off your flying broom."

[capt_angie]

"That's never stopped me playing before."

[wizard_dresden]

"Yeah, kinda figured."

[capt_angie]

"I don't know, I'm probably too out of practice to be a Quidditch player now anyway. It's been about three years since I've done any proper training."

[wizard_dresden]

"You can do it. Start training again. And you have the advantage of this place." I wave around the bar. "You could have the equivalent of three years in one for retraining."

[capt_angie]

"True," she says, smiling. "I could stay here and do nothing but fly for as long as it takes to be brilliant again."

[wizard_dresden]

At that, I just smile.

[capt_angie]

"What are you grinning at?"

[wizard_dresden]

"Nothing."

Her.

Something.

Who knows.

[capt_angie]

She laughs an leans across the bar to kiss him. Just because.

[wizard_dresden]

"There's something I could get used to," I say between light pecks to her mouth.

[capt_angie]

"You mean you're not used to it already? Damn. In that case I'm not kissing you enough."

[wizard_dresden]

"Well, I did specifically mean the kissnig while I'm at work part, but no, you're not kissing me enough."

Because I don't think there actually is 'enough'.

[capt_angie]

"Well, clearly that needs to change," she says between kisses.

[wizard_dresden]

"Definitely."

No arguments from me.

"Too bad I'm stuck here for another two hours."

[capt_angie]

She makes an ick face, but it slowly turns into a wicked smile.

"Well," she says, leaning close to his ear and talking in a low voice, "how about I dissapear upstairs and freshen up a bit while you finish your shift and then you can come and join me when you're done here..."
