[OOM: All things must eventually come to an end, some more quickly than others.]
And Mia is back in the bar, quite normal.
Which fortunately means that one Eugene Roe won't be wearing his stomach as a hat courtesy of Draco Malfoy anytime soon.
Mia is just sitting in a booth, idly wondering where Draco is, come to think of it.
She's still got a little dreaminess to her, but that's more of a waiting for who she really loves dreaminess.

She quietly mulls over this for a while.

"Mia?"

"I'm sorry. I was thinking about home."
She looks a little away.
"What Vane was like right before the war," she adds quietly.

She grasps a little to his hand.
"Mother was always so warm and kind, but then it looked like she was changing. She started keeping to herself more, having conferences with a fortuneteller named Royce. And she began making and enforcing strange laws forbidding people to speak openly about the Goddess or the spires in the Guild. She imprisoned them, was going to have them executed, and nearly did the same to me."
She closes her eyes briefly before continuing.
"Only it wasn't Mother. It was a woman named Xenobia, the leader of the Vile Tribe. Ghaleon's followers. She had assumed Mother's form and taken her place in those months. Mother was locked up in the prison with a mask to conceal her identity from both the people and herself. Or rather, the mask kept her from wanting to remember by causing her pain every time she tried. That's why she can't use magic anymore."
In short, for a few months before the war started, Mia had the equivalents of Lord Voldemort and Dolores Umbridge for parental figures.

"Things like that have happened in my world, too. Sometimes they use the Imperius curse though."
He wasn't going to mention kissing up to Umbridge to be a part of her Inquisitorial Squad to make himself look good.

"It is over now, though, and I am fortunate to have Mother back with some part of her memories. She still has her kindness, her warmth."
She closes her eyes again.
"I'm glad to have her back. The real her."

Draco then remarked, "I wonder how my mum is."

She strokes his hand a little.
"You want to see her, don't you? Could we see your mother?"

She nuzzles a little.
"But I want to meet her. She's important to you."
A short pause.
"In fact, if she would consider it, I don't see why she couldn't come to live in my world, too."
no subject
"...You mean that?"
no subject
She looks up at him.
"You said she is all that you have holding you to your world. If the same is true for her, I don't see why she can't come to Lunar if she wants. And if she ends up despising me, well, it's not exactly like Lunar's small. It's not like she has to live with us if she doesn't want to, but that doesn't mean she can't be in the same world."

"I don't know if she will. If the Manor still stands... I don't know. But she might like it. Find a nice stately home for her."
no subject
"In the end, it's up to her, but she is welcome to live there."
She smiles a little teasingly and gives him a short, innocent kiss.
"I don't want her thinking that I stole her little boy away from her."
no subject
"I'm not that little. Any part of me for that." Wicked smirk.
no subject
She blushes a little.
"It would probably have to be something major like having children."
no subject
"But we've been careful!" He stammered.
no subject
Her eyes close once more and she tilts her head slightly.
"Believe me, if we were expecting, I wouldn't tell you like this."
no subject
Draco couldn't hide the relief on his facem and he sagged back in the seat, "Thank Merlin since I know we agreed we weren't ready for that kind of step yet."
no subject
"I think I'd have to get used to being the Guildmaster quite a bit longer before I think of things like raising a child."

She laughs a little nervously.
"I almost can't believe it. It feels like just yesterday I was so scared, that I would never be ready to take the place I knew everyone expected me to take."
Ah, the infamous last-minute jitters.
"What if I'm no good?"
no subject
"Don't be thick. You're fantastic. They already know it. You just have to prove it to yourself. See how all of us see you."
no subject
"You make it so much harder to doubt."
