Kate's got her security badge easily seen and her feet propped up on the end of a couch as she surveys the room.

It's mostly quiet. It may continue to mostly be quiet.

But she's watching anyway, just in case that changes.

She's also reading a book in between scans, and enjoying it a great deal.

She's enjoying more in general, honestly, with Piotr back, but it's hard to not enjoy a good fantasy novel no matter what. Especially ones that are humorous and make you periodically giggle at the pages.

[OOC: Y'all have my apologizies, but I need to beg a slowtime till tomorrow night. I'm staying up to get a plotty OOM done, and right now am running only on the end of caffeine. Everyone will be tagged tomorrow! - Kat]

Raven drops down nearby, head tilted.

He is not hiding a zombie Piglet.

That would be wrong.

"Hey, Bird," she grins as she glances up.

"The last time I checked. Though here you do kinda have to remember to do the checking."

Raven nods, nose wrinkling.

"It is irritating, on occasion, I think."

"Milliways," she says wryly with a shrug.

It's been irritating Kate with the boyfriend gone for a month bit lately.

"How're you?"

"Mostly not so bored, I do not think."

He grins.

"Likely it is better, so."

"Quite probably. You looking to amuse yourself could be dangerous for the rest of us."

It's said quite cheerfully, though.

"Yes. But it is also entertaining."

"Hi, Kate." Suzi chirps, passing with trailing small knitted animals. They aren't actually trailing, every time one starts to fall out of her arms she grabs it with a tentacle, "Have you seen a wicker basket? Joy dragged it out and I can't find it."

"Hi," she says, and then blinks.

"No. What's it look like, beyond...wicker?"

"Fairly big? I used to carry Joy in it when she was a little bitty puppy, and I'd been storing these in it but Joy didn't like that and so now I have lots and lots of toys and nothing to put them in." Suzi laughs, wryly, and waves a knitted spiny-anteater.

"Sorry, then," she laughs, "haven't seen it. I'll totally keep an eye out, though, in case I do. Want to join me, or is the quest too important?"

"Not important at all." Suzi says, dumping the toys all over Kate's table and sitting down, "She's just an active puppy."

"I can't quite commiserate, but I can offer coffee, if that helps."

"I'm not supposed to have coffee." Suzi admits, "Something about the sheer amount of perkiness in a caffeinated Suzi being more than man should be forced to bear."

Here Kate, have another Kate!

Millitimed after she gets Will settled in to sleep, and recover from flu, Kate comes back downstairs. Her dinner had been cleared away, but that's ok. She decided to go sit somewhere more comfortable with some hot chocolate.

She heard the giggling, and smiled tiredly toward the other woman. Of course, making note of the badge.

"Good book?"

"Pretty well, yeah," she says as looks up with a smile.

It's Sunshine.

"Vampires and baked goods. Unusual combination."

Kate glanced at the cover thoughtfully.

"Together? Or a bakery for vampires? Like blood muffins or something?" She wondered with a slight chuckle at the idea.

"Definitely sounds unusual."

"Cinnamon rolls," she grins. "A baker who knows a vampire. Sorta. It's an interesting book. I enjoy McKinley. And I probably shouldn't laugh at parts of it, but I can't quite help it."

Kate nodded, "I don't think I've heard of the author before. But I'll look it up when I stop back in New York again."

She then offered her hand, "By the way, I'm Kate Bishop." Last name might ring a bell or not with her father's publishing firm.

There are many Bishops in the world; there's association with the firm, but not enough to think there's necessarily a connection here.

"Kate Pryde. Nice to meet you," she offers, a hand going with her words."

Just as Kate's noting the same first name more than the last name. Or the name all together. She only knew of mutants like Wolverine more since he worked with Captain America.

"Good name," She replied with a smile, and added, "Nice to meet you too."
