Kate's got her security badge easily seen and her feet propped up on the end of a couch as she surveys the room.

It's mostly quiet. It may continue to mostly be quiet.

But she's watching anyway, just in case that changes.

She's also reading a book in between scans, and enjoying it a great deal.

She's enjoying more in general, honestly, with Piotr back, but it's hard to not enjoy a good fantasy novel no matter what. Especially ones that are humorous and make you periodically giggle at the pages.

[OOC: Y'all have my apologizies, but I need to beg a slowtime till tomorrow night. I'm staying up to get a plotty OOM done, and right now am running only on the end of caffeine. Everyone will be tagged tomorrow! - Kat]

"Not important at all." Suzi says, dumping the toys all over Kate's table and sitting down, "She's just an active puppy."

"I can't quite commiserate, but I can offer coffee, if that helps."

"I'm not supposed to have coffee." Suzi admits, "Something about the sheer amount of perkiness in a caffeinated Suzi being more than man should be forced to bear."

"--Well, I could get decaf?"

"That's alright." Suzi demurs cheerfully, "I don't like it without sugar, and I'm not supposed to have that without supervision. All in all I stick to tea."

"That works. What kind do you want?"

"Ask them for Sime tea." Suzi says, "It's got all the minerals and stuff that I need, and is deadly toxic to anyone who isn't Sime."

Pause, "I'm not going to offer to share."

"I appreciate that," Kate says, solemnly.

And orders just that, along with more coffee for herself.

"How've you been, Suzi?"

"I didn't die, so I'm doing fine!" Suzi informs Kate. Cheerfully.

"--I ask out of honest curiosity, was death a recent issue for you, or are you just determined to find a bright spot every day no matter what?"

"You know how people have been disappearing and then showing up in the past and in worlds that aren't there own?" Suzi asks, then keeps right on going, "Deitmar and I were out back with Joy and Richard and then we were somewhere else and it turned out that we were not quite at the very bottom of England and it was the same England that Quinn is from which means we were nearly three thousand years before I was born and there were Gens but they weren't very close and it took almost too long although not long enough that I wasn't able to walk anymore before Deitmar and I found a Gen and she gave me Transfer so I didn't die."

Then she takes a breath.

"I'm glad you didn't die," Kate settles on.

"Me too." Suzi chirps again. This is the same woman who is able to say things like I was eaten by a giant worm without angst. "And I ended up being there for the First Changeover, and I was channel for it. That's...amazing."

"--Good amazing, or amazing you're still here amazing, or both?"

"Killing is a physiological addiction for Sime which can either be broken in the first twelve months after Changeover or not at all." Suzi states, "Thanks to me being sent back to the past and surviving the first Sime never killed."

"...I'm not sure I'm parsing that correctly, but I think that's a yay?"

"On one hand," Suzi flips a hand over, "almost three thousand years of chaos and slavery unchecked. On the other hand, channel Transfers. It's a yay."
