Atton is outside, training.

He has a dozen or so floating targets, like dartboards, zipping around him very quickly and firing stun bolts down at him from tiny holes at the sides. It's very obvious that he cobbled them together from various machines.

He's blindfolded, and he's alternating between throwing knives at them with one hand and shooting them with another, while dodging the stun bolts. Judging by the bright, chirpy green flashes and the heavy blaster scoring and multiple knife marks on and immediately around the bullseye, he's doing quite well.

He may be grinning from ear to ear, because it's reassuring to know that he's not helpless without the Force.

And now? Now Gavin is confused. "Okay?"

"Just thought y'might've mentioned me." Atton shrugs. "Want t'go get a drink?"

Gavin shakes his head, still confused. "How would I explain you?"

"Well, even mentioning that you were seeing somebody would've been a start. Unless you're ashamed of me."

Beat.

"But you're not. Right?"

He shakes his head. Gavin doesn't think that's the case. At least, he doesn't want to think so. Why would he be ashamed? Atton's his boyfriend. He loves him. This isn't anything to do with shame.

"If you really want," he replies, "we can go to Tatooine."

"Nah. Never mind." Atton gives Gavin a quick kiss on the cheek. "'M just being an idiot, 's all."

Gavin blinks. "I mean it, though."

"I know, Gav. Don't worry, okay?" Atton smiles, nudging him.

He worries though. It's what he does.

"Are you sure?"

Atton nods.
"Certain. 'S not exactly much point anyway, after all."

Now he frowns. "Why?"

"Because ..." Pause. Frown. "I had a really good reason and then I forgot it."

"Are you sure?"

Cause Gavin really isn't certain.

"Yes. Just rest assured it was a brilliant reason." Atton says. "Does it really matter, anyway?"

Slowly, "I think so."

He just gets a quizzical look.

"Why don't you want to meet my family?"

"I thought you didn't want me to meet them?"

"I didn't but-" Gavin shakes his head, taking a deep breath. "I don't know!"

"You're not making any sense, Gavin."

Gavin shrugs. "So?"

"So, how am I supposed t'know what t'do? I have no idea if y'want me to meet them, or y'don't want me t'meet them or anything."

"But do you want to meet them?"

"Gavin, I just want what you want. If you want t'keep me secret, that's fine."

He still doesn't understand. But he doesn't want to push it.

"Are you sure?"
