Clark entered the bar a few hours ago. So far, he's spent most of that time outside by the lake, enjoying the cold weather. People tend to ask fewer questions here about his lack of appropriate winter attire than they do at home.

He's back inside now, having obtained a cup of hot cocoa from the bar, along with a few books. Currently, he's settled in a chair nearish the observation window, idly flipping through a travel guide to Argentina.

"Planning a vacation?"

It's the only reason Hannah can think of for reading a travel guide.

Clark glances up at the sound of the voice and offers a small smile. "Yeah. Sort of, anyway. I mean, I'm planning on going but I'm not sure how much of an actual vacation it'll be."

"Well," says Hannah, "I guess a lot of that depends on why you're going and if you want to be going and just how much of a trip Argentina is for you in the first place.

"None of which, technically, I guess, is exactly any of my business."

He chuckles softly. "I guess not, but I'm not all that adverse to talking about it." Top some degree, anyway. "I'm going down to look for someone, so I suppose it's more of a business trip, of sorts."

"Well, I hope you've got narrowed down more than just Argentina. Because it's kind of a big place, long, skinny. . ." she trails off, thinking. "At least, on my version of earth.

"Who are you looking for?"

"Friend of a friend, really. Not someone I know personally, but my friend isn't around any more to look for herself, so it's up to me," he explains, eyes glancing back down at the book. "Unfortunately, all I really know is that they were last seen in Argentina."

"You're a good friend then," says Hannah.

"And, hey, it could be worse. It could be Brazil.

"How's your Spanish?"

"Uh, really, really bad," he admits. "I went to Honduras last year and that was a bit of a struggle." He pauses for a moment. "Maybe I should be working on that instead."

"It might help," she says. "Mine's terrible, too. Like, terrible to the point of non-existant."

Her French is quite good, though.

"I'm Hannah, by the way. Hannah Griffith, not-quite-2008, Neptune, California."

"I can't even say I can't speak Spanish."

An eyebrow is raised at her introduction. He's heard something like it before. "Nice to meet you, Hanna. Clark Kent, Smallville, Kansas, 2007. Do you know Lilly, by any chance?"

"Nice to meet you, Clark.

"And I met Lilly here once. She was a few years older than me. We have an ex-boyfriend in common."

For what it's worth. Which, in Hannah's opinion anyway, isn't all that much.

"But I don't really know her well."

"Going somewhere, Clark?" Nathan was at a table nearby with a drink.

"Hey, Nathan," Clark says, looking up from the book and positioning it so the front cover is easier to see. "Argentina. Hopefully in the next week or so."

He nodded, and wondered, "Any particular reason? Visiting, vacation?"

"Looking for someone, actually. Friend of a friend."

"Oh, sorry to hear... I'd offer my help, but I think I'm stuck here for the time being."

"Thanks for the offer. I'm probably better off handling this on my own, anyway," he explains carefully. "I doubt it's going to be much more than going down and asking around a bit."

"Yeah, good luck to you with that. Whenever I get out of here, got someone to find myself."

"Guess it's the day for lost people," Clark replies sympathetically. "Can I ask who it is?"

He nodded, "Sure, he's been in here, but from before my current time. It's my brother. There was an explosion, and I don't know what happened to him afterwards. Can't do anything for a long time either. Not as I am now."

"I'm sorry to hear about your brother," he offers sincerely. "How do you mean, 'as you are now'?"

Did he perhaps see a Greater Kantri near the lake? I have found that I rather enjoy swimming in the water and letting it steam off of me when I emerge.

While Smallville may have had its share of strange occurrences, a dragon has never been one of them. So it's very possible Clark noticed. He may even have stared for a few minutes.

I was well used to such a reaction and I dipped my head, sending a wave down my neck.

"Greetings to you," I called, friendly, leaving off 'child of the Gedri', for Gedri he was not. I would have to find another title to use at Milliways. I moved no closer, though. I had learned that may of the stories of my Kindred had us devouring the Gedri, foolish though it was.

A talking dragon at that. Clark shouldn't be as surprised as he is.

"Uh, hi," he replies, just a touch nervously. In his reading experience, dragons can go the good or the bad route. "Guess you don't much mind the weather."
