Since he's on the run from SHIELD with boy genius Amadeus Cho, Hercules was not expecting the door he opened to bring him to a glorius bar.

So the 6' 5" tall barrel chested man (wearing a big yellow and green sash and, well, skirt combo) pauses, looking around for a moment. Then, with a mighty laugh, he walks straight up to the bar.

"A cask of thy finest ale!" he orders. "For it is glorious of Olympus to bestow such a gift on the Prince of Power as this tavern!"

"Have you had a lot of success with that?"

There's dust clinging to her still, because she's still trying to help.

"Yay, I have," Hercules says. "I have fought beside many great men, and even fellow gods! The son of Odin and I have made a formidable team on more than one occasion."

Demeter can't help, she laughs,

"Join me for a drink then and tell me of your life now."

Hercules takes no offense, he merely smiles.

"I appear to have much to tell," Hercules says. "From when do you wish me to relate?"

"I've always been behind on the news. So start with what's important to you."

And look there's even a bottle of red wine for them to share.

"Did I have to do a second set of labors, in your world?" Hercules asks, finally sitting with Demeter.

"No, I don't believe you did. Who assigned them to you? I hope Hera wasn't being horrible again."

"Twas her," Hercules says. "But I bear her no ill will. Her ways were devious but I was able to recapture my glory and put many a ghost behind me."

"I'm glad. What did she ask of you this time?"

"Twas through Eurystheus she sent my new labors," Hercules says. "That which was filmed and broadcast as reality TV. Modern versions of my old labors. Attacking a HYDRA base and so forth. Though the final labor was... difficult."

"Filmed, that's horrible."

"It could have been much worse," Hercules says. "Besides, it allowed Hercules to regain some fame amongst the mortal folk!"

"Ah yes, fame, I've never understood its call."

"Tis of use when one visits a tavern in New York," Hercules says.

"But you're so individual, I don't see how mortals would need help knowing who you are."

"Alas, many seem to no longer believe in tales of old," Hercules says. "And many think I should look like Kevin Sorbo."

"Kevin Sorbo, he's not hairy enough."

"That is what I said!" Hercules says with a laugh. "Steve Reeves was too small, but he at least had the hair."

He smiles. "It is too fun to see the representations that mortal men create of us."

"There aren't that many of me, but some lovely statues and all these new pagans seem to think that Kore and I are important."

"Ahhh, the glory to be regarded as more than myth," Herc says. "Though my father was wise to bow Olympus out like he did."

The look he gets is a little harder now,

"Ah he did. Did he leave Greece or just Olympus?"

"You misunderstand," Herc says. "Allowing mortals to no longer worship the gods of Olympus."

"How can he stop mortals from worshiping?"

"He did not stop them," Hercules clarifies. "He merely broke Olympus' ties with Earth when Christianity began to rule in Greece and Rome."

Demeter is very quiet, there's an olive branch in her hand that she holds tightly,

"He left, chased out by Christianity?"
