Coyote leans up against the bar. It's quite warm in Sedona, even on a clear night like tonight. She's wearing a skirt that comes inches within violating a bar rule and high-heeled sandals.
She's smoking, and smiling.
She's smoking, and smiling.
no subject
But it isn't the smile. Not really.
Because, wow... that's a short skirt. Max approves.
"Good evening, oh radiant one," he offers as he sits down next to her and sets his drink on the bar in front of him.
no subject
"Only because of the sweat," Coyote replies. "But I accept your statement in the spirit it was intended."
no subject
"Can I buy you a drink?"
Cause that's where you start...

"I've got a whole lot of money." He doesn't look it, truth to tell.
no subject
"Then you may buy me several drinks."
no subject
He chooses his words carefully, "What's your pleasure?"
no subject
"Something cold. You can choose." It's a test, Max! Choose wisely.
Or if 'wise' is not in your vocabulary list, at least make it tasty and expensive.
no subject
He'll see your tasty and expensive, and he'll raise you highly alcoholic.
He orders one for himself as well. No point in letting the lady drink alone, after all.
no subject
It's certainly very full of alcohol.
"Good choice," she allows.

"Who are you, then?"
no subject
"And what of yourself? Or should I simply call you 'beautiful'?"

Did he steal her cigarette?
no subject
But his looks just like hers.
Coyote checks her tiny tiny pocket and finds that her cigarette case is missing. She sighs and makes the wiggly fingers of 'give it back' at Raven.
no subject
It lingers.
no subject
And then slaps him upside the head before taking another drag.
no subject
Hard.
She is not getting her cigarette case back now.
no subject
"Ace is angry with you," she says, letting go and leaning back to avoid revenge for that move. "She told me to hit you."
no subject
Raven stands, head cocked.
His eyes are very black.
"That, I think, is almost a surprise."
no subject
Coyote waves a hand.
"But, you have all the time in the world, don't you?"
no subject
His face is very close to hers, teeth bright and sharp.
"And that is what you hate, perhaps. I have wondered, I think. On occasion."
He tilts his head, gaze fathomless and dark.
"Or possibly it is gloating, yes?"
Silence.
"Now I am for knowing what it is to be left."

He leans closer.
"Lose your world, Coyote. And then, I think, we will talk, yes?"
He pushes away from her, stepping back. If the push overbalances her--these things happen.
"Only you, I think, do not so much stay when that happens. So."
no subject
"You cannot fight the world. You can only fight me."
