Coreen Fennel decided it'd be for the best to just take the plunge and cross the threshold into the strange bar that was looming in front of her, and get it over with.

The first thing she noticed was the overwhelming amount of unusual people in various states around the bar, and managed to find an empty booth, and slipped into it.  She was even more fascinated with this place than she'd been when she found out Henry Fitzroy was a vampire.

I bet that I'm going to have some fun...which is exactly what a girl needs when her body's being controlled by a demon in her waking life.  Oh well, time to party!

She smiled at the people and started to get really comfortable in the booth.

((OOC-This is my first post on Milliways!  Any advice, help, RPing is more than welcome!  Thanks! :D backstory- http://coreenfennel.livejournal.com/))

There's a Goddess sat on the floor, bull terrier curled up beside her and she has a new ball, it isn't the same as her old one but Bill Sikes saw the demise of that one so she had to replace it. She doesn't seem her usual self either. She's still trying to work out why those two are together and how they stayed that way when all she'd seen of Bill was a angry man who'd shouted at her.

Cheer her up or give her some advice about people?

"Hey, Bar?" says Shephard when he comes in from his morning run. "Gimme a piece of posterboard'n a magic marker or somethin', willya, please?"

There's a silent hesitation. Eventually, the objects materialize.

"Thanks," says Shephard, and wanders over to one of the tables. A short while later he heads for the bulletin board and sticks up a notice:

United States Marine looking for flying lessons
Helicopter preferred
Flight simulator VERY preferred

Contact: Cpl. Adrian Shephard via the Bar

After some thought, he draws his rank insignia and the Marine Corps logo under his name; he is, after all, pretty much going to have one or both of them visible no matter what he wears around here. If there's someone who can lend a hand, they'll be able to find him one way or another. And if not, then, well, no extra flying time. OH WELL.

That being done he grabs some breakfast and a book the Bar assures him is called Generation Kill, and settles in to plow through both.

The Door opens and closes on its own. It's only open for a fraction of a second, but that's enough to admit a large amount of water, as well as a somewhat less large - though not significantly less wet - boy. Anyone very close to the Door, as well as whatever food or drink they have, is probably covered in muddy river water.

The boy stays sprawled for only a moment before getting to his feet and looking around warily.

Welcome back to Milliways, Felix.

[OOC: Same mun, and same pup journal, but this is a different Felix than was here three years ago. If your pup was active between December 2005 and April 2006 they might recognize Felix (although it's less likely than if he were dry and three years older), but he won't recognize them.]

There's a young woman in a blue-and-gold jumpsuit at one of the tables with two pieces of paper in front of her. At the top of one, in large clear letters, is written the phrase 'Rivet City'. At the top of the other, in similarly large clear letters, is written 'Arlington Library'. Both papers are divided into 'pro' and 'con' columns.

Unfortunately, what Ellen knows and has been able to gather about either location could fill a small thimble and leave room for a couple of sesame seeds, so whatever decision she's trying to arrive at, it ain't comin' any time soon. She looks distractable, though.

Ray doesn't so much walk through the door today as get thrown through it at high enough speed to wind up in a tumble of legs and arms and proton pack against a convenient patch of wall. "Ow," he mutters before trying to right himself. "Good Lord, I hate tentacles..."

Taking care of an infant is exhausting. So is being an infant. Both parties could use a break.

Thus, we find a blue-skinned man asleep on a couch, his turquoise-skinned daughter curled up on his chest. A bag of diapers and glowing baby formula is propped up next to them.

Do you dare wake either of them up?

It's been a while since Dominic Deegan came to Milliways.

At least, in Milliways time it's been a while. In Dominic's world it's only been a couple of days.

To him, it feels like much, much longer.

Hundreds are dead, his brother has been stripped of his magic, and there's a monster beyond human comprehension trying to enter his world.

He seriously needs a drink.

The number of meetings on her husband's schedule is getting, in Amy's opinion, quite ridiculous. (She's ready to mention to his secretary that if this doesn't get scaled back, the children are going to forget what he looks like.)

She has a half-formed idea in her head when she slips into Milliways. What exactly she's going to do, though, may depend on who she runs into.

[OOC: Not plotlocked, though any other threads will be Millitimed to before the one with Parker Lee. Also, there will be intermittant AFKness throughout the afternoon.]

Gus is at the fireplace with a cup of coffee on the table next to him, though it seems to be largely ignored. Right now, he's more interested in colouring in the stars on his arm with red texta. Life has become rather boring since he gave up cards.

Very botherable.

[OOC: tagging open all day, though I may have to run to the shop for a few hours of slow-time later this evening.]

He hasn't been to Milliways in quite a while. None the less, a door opens and a vampireman walks through. His nose is buried in a ledger when he walks through, though it's up half a heartbeat when the scents of his Italian villa are replaced with those of Milliways.

There's a quirk to his mouth as he snaps the ledger closed and heads to a booth and settles in.

Botherable vampire inna booth. He may or may not be working on the books for his villa.

Jason is kicked back in a booth, a cold beer and brats in front of him. He's gotten some sun and seems pretty happy about that, wearing a light tank with his jeans. He's still a little withdrawn, but maybe you can bring him out of that?

Blond goddess. T-shirt and jeans. Sprawled in one of those 'corner' booths, making her way slowly through a chocolate milkshake.

She looks faintly bummed but good luck getting her to admit what's wrong.

Tim shuffles over to a table, his head feeling like a Tyrannosaurus Rex has taken up residence inside. He plunks down into one of the seats and rests his head on the table, enjoying the coolness of the polished wood against his forehead.

"I'm never, ever, ever drinking again until after tea," he mutters.

You can tell this is a new arrival from the way her head - dark, curly hair, alert brown eyes - jerks up the second she realises she's in a bar she hadn't intended to be in. Her hat - a fedora with a wide ribbon around the crown - is pushed back to give her a better look at the bar, and she rocks back on her heels, hands tucking inside her trenchcoat. You never know when you might like easy access to your guns.

Other than that, she doesn't react with any external sign of freaking out. That's all internalised while she takes a good long look around.

And so we have again a detective in Milliways. Near the observation window, reading a newspaper and enjoying straight bourbon.

Someone is getting used to the presence of a door to an interdimensional bar in his city.

Now he just needs to stop frowning at the news.

The door swings open and for a moment, all that can be heard is a male voice shouting.

"Ow, Jean! OW! I swear, I didn't know you were in there! Crap! OW!!"

A large potted plant comes flying through the door to crash on the floor near the table closest to the door. It is closely followed by Bobby, who is holding one hand over the left side of his face as he slams the door and leans on it.

"Note to self, Drake. Knock before walking into the bathroom--even if it's unlocked."

When he stands up and drops his hand, he's got a nice sized shiner forming over his eye.

Alyx's mood has, on average, been improving over the last couple of weeks. However, she still has bad patches sometimes. This is one of them.

She's currently curled up in the armchair closest to the fireplace, bundled up in a blanket. The only parts of her visible are her face and her hands, which are clutching a mug of hot cocoa (liberally laced with hooch).

Not really botherable, but you're going to try anyway, right?

The man that walks into the bar isn't in the middle of a war, exactly - but he certainly looks like he's dressed for one. There's a hint of dust on his ACU's, but none on the M4A1 carbine that he's carrying in his hands.

He stops after two steps, steps out of the path of the doorway, barrel pointed towards the ground. There's a few patches on his uniform - an American flag, the words US ARMY, a small patch on his lapel that indicates he's a Captain - but nothing giving his name or division.

Needless to say, this was not where he was expecting to end up, but he's not staring in surprise or shock. The officer is looking over the interior of the bar, assessing the situation - he lifts a pair of goggles from his eyes and rests them on his forehead since he's not wearing a helmet - in an attempt to figure out just what is going on.

When Em walks into the bar for the third time, she's not expecting a napkin to pop up near her elbow, kindly requesting that she bartend. Lucky for the Milliways patrons, she knows a thing or two about making mixed drinks, so when she slides underneath to get situated, it only takes her a second to familiarize herself with where everything is (with Bar occasionally and helpfully nudging bottles to the forefront of shelves) before she starts to write on the sign.

HAPPY HOUR

Specials:
Carnival Apple
Pink Cotton Candy
Slow Comfortable Screw Up Against The Bed Post Mexican Doggy Style

Other drinks also available upon request.

(The last she picks just because she likes the name; don't even ask her how she learned to make that one.)

She opens up a beer for herself and takes a swig. Her mixing skills tend to improve with a slight buzz.

Teja is sitting by the fireplace, drinking tea and eating one of the eggs that the rats, for some reason, had served him with his meal, unasked. Their shells had been painted red.-

Teja is, for him, comparatively content -- not all trouble with Charlie is past yet, but at least, he has been spared being infected and turned into a were-leopard. That is a good start.

It's so hard to find good help these days.

Especially when one is looking to staff government positions, and has requirements like 'morally dubious,' 'able to work with others' and also 'intelligent.' The Evilcrats are lucky to find people to fit even two of those criteria, let alone three--and if they want someone without a police record so glaring that even substantial bribes and/or extortion can't make Congress look the other way, well, it's time to outsource.

So Squirrel is here, dressed in a business suit and gnawing periodically on an unlit cigar; he is seated at a table arrayed with brochures with such helpful titles as 'The Evilcratic Party and You,' 'So You Want To Be A Supervillain,' and 'Flexible Morality For Fun and Profit.'

You know you want to.

Charlie is in the Bar today, but still tired. As good as sleep was last night, it wasn't enough, when he woke up this morning.

So he retired to the main Bar room, with music, good earphones and a book. And half the morning he caught some light fitful sleep; the rest he's spending with the music and various books the waitrats have gotten for him, as he's finished different ones. He's on The Call of the Wild for now.

[OOM: In Ambergeldar, immediately before this, Amy receives a most unwelcome communication.]

For the second time today, Amy comes into the bar with only a half-formed idea as to what exactly she's hoping to accomplish. And, once it again, it will depend greatly on who she runs into.

But while usually there's something of a lessening of tension when she comes into Milliways, tonight she pauses in the door, squares her shoulders, and closes her eyes for a moment. And while she's calm and composed as she continues forward, the effort to be those things is probably showing if you know her (and probably even if you don't).

Queen Amethyst of Ambergeldar (for it's not really fair to call her Amy when she's like this) scans the room quickly, looking to see who is here that she knows, and hoping she'll see her friends.
