Will's outside at the archery range, its a good thing to do as he thinks about what maybe coming this tax time.

Also he's worrying about Guppy though at least Kate's doing better.

"Who taught you first?"

Everytime he draws his arm aches a bit less than before, so that's good.

"Me Da with a wee bow, but Robin made me a true archer. Tis a law in England that e'ery man must know 'ow to fire a longbow. Many can fire one, tis knowin' 'ow to truly 'andle a bow that makes the difference."

"I know your mama's still around, is your dad as well?" Doc asks, as he draws another arrow from the quiver. "And law, seriously?"

"Oh aye, she is, worryin' a good bit. Tis so they can call us up an use us as fodder in the battles."

"My daddy taught me t'shoot," he says. "Still remember the first time I held that big rifle. Knocked me flat on my ass."

"First thing Robin made me do was just stand there with the bow drawn, thought me arms would fall off."

"Shit," he says, impressed, as he draws the bow and holds it. "You must be able to stay still now."

"'ave to, canna 'unt down a deer if ye're fidgettin' all 'bout the place."

Will lines up beside Doc with a nod and starts firing his quiver.

"Talent is bein' able to sight a squirrel," Doc says.

Will? Is much better than Doc. But Doc is not half bad.

Helps if you already know how to aim and steady yourself,

"Aye, I've bit o'a talent with a blade an me fingers."

"When did you start training with Robin?"

"Was 'bout 'leven or so."

"I didn't git started 'till I was your age," he admits.

"Robin saved me from the Sheriff's men, caught me stealin' from 'is uncle an claimed me."

"And your parents didn't mind it?"

"Nay, gave me a chance I'd ne'er 'ave 'ad. Without Rob probably would 'ave 'anged long ago."

The next few shots aren't quite as good, skirting the inside circle.

"Remind me to thank him, for that."

Doc smiles a little, grateful that he's met Will and that he's stuck around.

"When were you planning on going back?"

The next arrow goes a bit high and sticks in the edge of the target, but doesn't miss.

"Tomorrow, need to talk to Kate 'fore I go."

He's careful to aim this time.

"You think I could go back with you, for a spell?"

"Aye, be glad o'ye."

"It's hard," he finally says. "Bein' here when she's not."

The next arrow just misses the bull and is the last in Will's quiver,

"Aye, lots goin' on inside 'er an think 'er bein' 'ome will be good. She's been talkin' o'it."

"Was talkin' 'bout my Kate," he adds.

He fires off the last arrow.

"But I can see that."

"Oh aye, forgive me."

"Nothin' to be forgiven for," he assures him. "Swear it. Hell they got the same name," he adds, as they walk to the targets downrange to fetch the arrows.
