Serenity's got about another 32 hours before they hit Ezra.

The waiting before a job is usually the worst part, and today Mal is feeling it more so than others. He's checking in with the bar when he receives an eyepatch and a watergun the likes of which he hasn't seen since that ridiculous Assassin game in April.

There's a smirk when he shoves the eyepatch into his pocket, hopping behind the bar and scrawling out a sign before asking Bar for a 3' by 5' cloth.

Mal walks out the door to the lake, damn near whistling.

[ooc: I'm on gchat for any coordinating that might want to happen. Uh. It's not a huge boat, but it'll do. I'll put up an organizing post somewhere if this gets people involved.

"Good," Elizabeth offers Jamie, eyes fixed on Mal after the rope's gone over. "I'm Captain Turner of the Empress. The other Captain Turner commands the Dutchman."

She's just defending his ~~prowess~~ honor.

Elizabeth picks up a bucket. Equally dry (for the moment): "So we have. It is a victory we will speak of for years to come."

Uh huh.

Mal quickdraws his watergun out of his waistband, firing at Elizabeth's shoulders.

"Crew - attack!"

Ed bursts out from beneath the tarpaulin, roaring a battlecry, clambering up the line to the Dutchman. As soon as she hits the deck she scampers away to dodge any incoming attacks, pulling two water pistols out of the waistband of her pants and shooting at anyone who isn't on her crew.

Inara pulls out the two water pistols hidden beneath her skirts, firing with deadly (wetly?) accuracy at Will's face.

"All hands to arms!" cries Elizabeth, who seems to take great pleasure in throwing a small wave of water over Mal. "To... buckets! Flush out the traitorous bilge rats! Send them to the Locker where they belong!"

She ducks behind the capstan, grinning fiendishly.

Gibbs, still being Gibbs, tries very hard to avoid getting an unplanned bath. Which means that the notion of a water pistol makes a great deal of sense when fighting pirates.

He just hopes the Elizabeth of his own day will forgive him this trespass. (Though seeing as how she dealt with it years ago, maybe she already has. Or maybe she's just waiting for right moment for revenge.)

Jamie is already soaked, which means the idea of getting wet doesn't bother him much.

On the other hand, Jamie is also lazy. So after unleashing his initial squirt at Mal, instead of running about like everyone else, he holsters his pistol, grabs a bucket, and swings himself up to a convenient perch on a mast.

The water in the bucket is aimed at Inara and Mal. Where it actually ends up is anybody's guess!

For a start, it barely misses an eyepatched Enzo, who has just flown up on his boogie baud.

"Dude... I mean, matey! What's proc... um... avast?"

Mal squints for a second, distracted by something along the lakeside.

"Ma?"

Splash.

Mal looks up, now completely drenched by Jamie's bucket. "[Get down here!]"

Ed, upon spotting Jamie above, shoves her water pistols back in her waistband, darts for the rigging, and proceeds to scramble up to Jamie's perch in order to inflict some well-deserved retribution upon him.

[OOC: Err, sorry. Ignore my last post.]

The nifty thing about water pistols is you get more than one shot!

And if Jamie thinks he is safe up on the mast, Wellard is more than willing to back Ed up in her assault.

The higher vantage also works picking out the targets of a certain captain and pirate king. >_> As it were.

Wellard is grinning as he takes his aim.

"Lkào!" Inara gasps as cold water pours over her, her clothes clinging and her thin top now precariously hanging on by one shoulder.

She narrows her eyes, focusing on Jamie. "Oh, you are going to get it now, traitor!"

Mal's grinning as he sees Wellard climb up to help Ed out.

What? He's much better as a supervisor.

Now, all he needs is a bucket of his own.

"Traitor!" exclaims Jamie, grinning fit to split his face open - and oblivious to anyone who might be sneaking up on him from below. "That's a bit harsh seeing I wasn't on your side to begin with -"

...Enzo is being ignored.

Well! This slight will not go unanswered!

Enzo parks his boogie baud directly above Jamie and leaps. Who knew "Arrrrrr!" could be a battle cry?

Weaving her way to Will, Elizabeth notices that he's been dodging Inara's blasts but has yet to fetch one of the remaining buckets. While Elizabeth has no qualms about soaking Inara, neither do other people, apparently, so she conserves what water she has left. Together, Will and Elizabeth seek higher ground up a staircase.

The ship is quickly becoming a mess, but Will smiles, a look that seems to say She's been wet before and will be again..

"Pity we can't submerge temporarily," Elizabeth remarks. "The day would be ours."

It's probably best for all involved that she gets a stream of water in her face at that moment, courtesy of Wellard. Indignant, she turns a glare his way and starts calculating the shortest route to his position.

Mal's got his eye mostly on Jamie at the moment -- he doesn't actually want anyone hurt while they're all playing around -- and he's finally managed to score himself a bucket. Mal's got it tied to a line and he's leaning over backwards to fill it.

Wouldn't want anyone sneaking up on him at all.

Inara sees Elizabeth and Will are momentarily distracted and manages, while slipping a bit in the dripping water from her skirt, to right herself and pull a REALLY BIG water pistol from skirt. Don't ask where she's been keeping it.

Cue water in the faces of Will and Elizabeth from point-blank range. And possibly evil laughter.

Meanwhile, startled by the surprise attack, Jamie loses his balance (and his grip on his pistol) and plummets -

- with Enzo falling on top of him -

- straight into Ed, who is in the process of sneaking up behind him -

- through giant piles of rigging, which tears as they go.

This is probably a good time to tell everyone to look out below.

-That is Not Good.

"Watch out below!"

Wellard is already starting his way down the rigging.

Mal lunges forward, trying to get Inara out of the way --

And they both get smushed under a pile of falling children.

Excellent heroics, captain.

"Ow!" says Radical Edward, Pirate Princess and Scourge of the Seven Seas. "I mean, arrrrrr!" She proceeds to try and scramble out of the pile.

It's more difficult for anyone to extricate themselves from the pile when everyone's trying to at once. Enzo gives a wobbly sort of giggle. "Let's do that again..."

"Not my idea and not my fault," announces Jamie hastily, also squirming his way out of the pile (and probably accidentally giving at least one other person a knee or an elbow in the face.)

"Ah - nobody's cracked any bones, right?"
